How do you drive (360)?

The only racing simulation I ever played regularly was Gran Turismo 2 on the PlayStation 2. I had the G-Force steering, force-feedback steering wheel. It was awesome. After my love affair faded, I never really got into another racer. That changed when I played the Forza 3 demo. I will be buying it Tuesday. Now, with that being said, I've been looking at different steering wheels. And I'm not sure which one would be the best deal. I really want to get the Fanatec Porche 911 Turbo S steering wheel but there are a couple problems.

First of all, it is very, very expensive. Secondly, you have to buy it online which means you can't see it before you buy it and you have to wait until possibly December or later to get it. By January/February I won't be playing Forza quite as much. I want a wheel now that I will use when I get the game.

What wheels are you guys using for Forza? This is obviously just for XBOX users. So the G25 users, please do not clog up the thread.

I went all out with Forza 2, bought the M$ wheel and even a Playseat. Used it for about two weeks and now it sits. IMO the M$ wheel feels like junk. I haven't ever played the g25 or Fanatac but I had a Thrustmaster PC Wheel back in the days of Nascar 2 and 3, like 10 years ago that felt better made then that M$ POS.

On top of that, it's just a pain in the *** trying to navigate menus or anything else. I ended up buying a SpeedFreek for the stick: http://www.kontrolfreek.com/Game-Con...SpeedFreek.asp. So untill M$ either allows the G25 or the Fanatec Turbo S is mass produced at a cheaper price point, I'll stick to the controller.

I use the MS wheel, but will probably get the Fanatec Turbo S at some point down the line. The MS wheel is better with Forza 3 than Forza 2, it's not a great wheel by any means, but I would take it any day over using a controller, especially with a game like Forza. Your simply not getting anywhere close to the full story when it comes to the physics model with a controller.

I use the MS wireless wheel and I love it. It works great and makes the game so much more fun than just using a controller.

I use the controller. I was thinking of buying the wheel, but where am I gonna put it? On my lap? Where do you guys put it?

It fits in your lap but its better clamped (comes included) on a table or racing chair.

It works fine just sitting on your lap since it's heavy enough it doesn't move around too much unless you're just a crazy driver.
