Took me a bit to get back into photoshop, but what I do for a basic car (I'm really not that great at this stuff either) was to find some Adidas logos online and use the "magic wand" to cut the white out, leaving me with a black logo. I'd save that as a photoshop (or paint.net) project, copy it, and paste it as a layer in the template. Then I'd resize, rotate, and put it where I wanted on the car.

It took me awhile to get a hold of this application. I had to watch a tutorial on it, and then it started to make sense. Here is the link, I had to pause it and read the text and watch it like 3 or 4 times. I now have a pretty good grasp of this program as I just created a great Cubs Car, and a Capt'n Morgan for my wife.

Hope this helps...if I can help in any way, just ask in the room are pm guys

I found these on the EA forum weeks ago. They're .psd files with the logos, headlights, etc as layers. I'm not sure how paint.net will handle these.

Chevy

Dodge

Ford

Toyota

I've played around with Paint.net as well and I thought it was frustrating. Try this forum to get you started and give you ideas.

To save yourself a little heartache you can just copy from your browser, then paste directly into your Photoshop .psd file. When you paste, that pic will automatically become a layer, so you can use the magic wand on it in your existing project and just edit the layer.

Thanks for the templates, and yeah, I know I can paste directly into my photoshop layer...I just want a psd of all the separate elements so I have a repository of the different logos, text, colors I make, etc. I should really just make a single .psd as a library with a ton of different layers. There's stuff I might want to use on other cars/in different ways.

I'm just so happy I can learn photoshop rather than have to fight with shapes in Forza, ugh that sucked horribly.

How are you guys getting your paint jobs onto that 3D model like that? I downloaded that AC3D program but can't figure it out.

Re: NASCAR 09 Custom Car Thread

I have never had any artistic skills so I never even attempted to try to paint a car for any racing game. The funny thing is I did have Terry paint one for me a few years ago and raced it whenever I could race online.
