http://files.filefront.com/DDS+Conve.../fileinfo.html Thats where I d/l DDS Converter 2.

You need that if your Photoshop or other paint program does not save .dds (I have Photoshop 7 and .dds is not listed in the format dropdown). Below is a step-by-step on converting a psd file to dds, hopefully it helps anyone else wondering how to do it. Really make sure DXT1 is clicked and Build mipmaps is not clicked (Under Options); Paint Booth will come back with an error and list those as possible reasons

So after you finished the convert, you're good to go to load up on your EA Locker. Hopefully that helps out and you can now load your custom car you've made, if not I'll try to help out the best I can

Re: NASCAR 09 Custom Car Thread

Sorry for the streaky pics I have a Canon Rebel XT but this was the only setting I could take a pic on w/o the flash so bare with me but you get the point the car came out pretty good IMO.

I would have just posted the pics but there just a tad to big and I didn't feel like going in and resizing them all.
Great job on that.

Thanks that was my first ever shot at it I know I'll get better but it came out pretty good for my first try. The car looks way better then the pictures show I put a lot of detail in the paint that's more "Ghost" like and under certain lighting conditions you'll see them pop up here and there it's really cool to have a glare down a straight away or around a corner and see different images and designs pop out.

Very cool! Glad it worked out and I was able to help

I just noticed, make sure you turn off the Reference Layer (Purple, 1st in the Layer window) or you'll get the grid lines to show up in-game. Can't wait to see what else ya got

Then I said well I'll try Paint.net and then couldn't download it, all I got was a page full of code. Any help guys would be great. Thanks
The big program now is Photoshop but I myself use paint shop pro. Thats what I started out on. Paint.net is also ok, just not as easy for me to get from point a to point b. Since Paint Shop Pro doesn't have a save as dds option, I have to use Paint.net to convert the image to upload to ea servers.

Re: NASCAR 09 Custom Car Thread

This is my first attempt at doing this. It's of course a Denver Bronco car.

I use paint shop pro also and found a dds plugin for it online. I just save the job as dds right in paint shop pro and it works great.

Just looked around and found the plugin for ya if you wanna give it a try. Just download the file below and place it in the plugins folder in paint shop pro located in program files. I'm pretty sure thats all I had to do, it's been a while since I installed it.

When you save as dds in psp a window will pop up. In the save format box click on NO ALPHA(DXT1), then right below that in the mip maps box clock on NO MIP MAPS, then click the save button in the save format box. Then ok for anything else that pops up.
Good luck!
