The Predictions, Awards, and Pimpage thread!

Seeing as how the Blue Jackets, and I'm sure a few other teams have kicked off training camp, thought this would be as good of a time as any to start this thread.

The best part is, hockey is almost back!

Re: The Predictions, Awards, and Pimpage thread!

Hart: Sid Crosby (expecting a huge year from him)
Art Ross: Sid Crosby
Rocket Richard: Alex Ovechkin (by about 15+ goals)
Vezina: Evgeni Nabakov
Lady Byng: Pavel Datsyuk
Norris: Nick Lidstrom
Selke: Mike Richards
Calder: Nikita Filatov. But in my mind this is the toughest one to predict. There's so many good rookies this year; Cody Hodgson, Colin Wilson, John Tavares, Villi Leino, Alex Pietrangelo, Matt Duchesne, etc. It's a crap shoot and for all we know it could be someone like James van Riemsdyk. But I think Filatov has the best chance. The team is good, he'll probably be on the top 2 lines and he's got a good supporting cast.

I'm also going to throw it out there that Nash will get some Hart nominations this year. I think this is the season he really takes off in all aspects - not just goal scoring.

Hank, Nabokov Vezina?

I don't know about that...He's starting to regress in my opinion.

Just to follow up on Nash, he looks like he is in the best shape of his life so far at TC, his team finally is good, and he has his big contract which he will feel like he must own up to.

This is the year he goes over 100 points, IMO.

If this award were given out with playoffs in mind, he might be clubbed over the head with the Vezina.

But I have a feeling he's going to have a superb season this year. But it'll also depend if he can play around 60 games. Like Kipersoff, I think he's starting to wear from all the games played.
So if they can get a backup capable of playing 20 games, I think he'll have a great shot of winning it.

Hart: Joe T
Richard: Heatley

I know it is a stretch, but I just have a good feeling about this combination. A lot like Cheechoo and Joe when they won both that year.

Yeah I know it is a homer! But Joe has not really had a great score since Cheechoo decline. So I think with Heatley watch out. Also, Marleau would have never had alomost 40 goals on his own last year with out Joe. Heat should have a big year. I am sure A.O. will proably win it, but I am think it will be close this year.
