Re: Top 5 players...

1. Ovechkin(can score any time any where)
2.J. Thornton(can make any pass any time)
3.Crosby(great but can't play both ways)
4.N. Lidstrom(you argue with Mr. Norris)
5.E. Nabokov(got screwed out of the Vezina last year and single handedly kept the sharks in playoffs before his team unfortunately choked. And when healthy this year has not missed a beat.)

This simply isn't true. While he's certainly not on the same level defensively as Zetterberg or Datsyuk, Crosby is most definitely not a poor defensive player. I'll be the first to admit that he's not playing at the level most expect of him this year (I wouldn't even put him in the top 5 based on current play), saying he "can't play both ways" is not true...

When I think of Sid I don't think of defense, but what he does do great is draw penalties. I think Jumbo Joe should be on this list. The guy is flat out amazing!

Re: Top 5 players...

1)Malkin-
Most complete offensive player in the league, most talented , can do everything, but only negative is not the most sound defensive forward, but if you play like him, you don't need to concentrate on D so much, because when he's on the ice, his team will be on the attack !. Also, I like his nasty edge sometimes.

2)Ovechkin-
best pure goal scorer, great physical presence, very motivated, lacks defensive awareness.

3) Iginla -
BEST leader of the 5 , great all around player, but doesn't dominate games as often like the first 2 on the list.

4) Crosby-
one of the most hardest working 'top players'. Not as physically talented as Malkin but I think he's a better on defense and more motivated than Malkin.

5) Zetterberg-
Not the most explosive offensive player but he is such a complete player, good leader, and doesn't bitch and moan like number 4 ......
