I wonder how many Toronto fans now think this team is going to be a contender since they just beat the defending champs?

Not a knock on Toronto fans specifically. We've got these kinds of fans here as well.

I was listening to the FAN yesterday and some fans were saying this team could make the playoffs!

You guys can, the only problem is you wont get out of the second round!

Ron is a good coach and his safe style of play will get you to the playoff, you just wont go far.

I gotta say man, that was some crazy partying over there in the D... What's the record of the home team in these banner-raising ceremonies, anyway? I thought it was pretty strange seeing the Toronto players on their bench having to watch the entire ceremony... I kinda felt bad for the guys and felt that this banner flaunting was not good karma.

Have you looked at their roster? They are rebuilding big time. Wilson already said he's not focused on winning for a while. Obviously stranger things have happened but this team is very unlikely to make the playoffs.

Actually Wilson planned to have the Leafs players watch the banner raising ceremony. Basically it was his way of getting the guys pumped up and showing them that maybe one day they'll be a part of a Stanley Cup championship team and going through that.

Apparently it worked as the Leafs won.

The Leafs played great, probably the best I've seen them play since the lockout. But at the same time, I don't think I've seen the Wings play that bad in nearly a decade.
They looked like horsecrap and deserved the loss.
And yet, they still only lost by one goal and made it close.

The Leafs won't make the playoffs but they are showing that they have some good young assets on their roster.
Leaf Fan on Young Street shouldn't plan the parade just yet - which you know is happening already.
