Sabres Sign RW Pomminville To 5-Year Extension

BUFFALO (LGS) — Jason Pominville and the Buffalo Sabres have agreed on a 5-year extension worth over $5 Million a season.
The 25-year-old scored 27 goals and added a team-leading 53 assists last season for a total of 80 points. In 222 career games, all with Buffalo, Pominville has notched 79 goals and 99 assists for 178 points to go along with a +37 rating.
Pominville is scheduled to receive $1,375,000 this season before becoming a restricted free agent next July.

The contract is 5 years, at $26.5 million($5.3 million per year)which is a steal for the Sabres, and a good deal for the potential captain.

bout freaking time they keep one of their own players.

Pominville is one of the more underrated forwards in the East.

This is the 3rd year in a row I've had Poms in my fantasy draft. I was able to get him at round 15 (in a 15 round draft) two years ago, and round 7 last year. This year I had to grab him in the 4th. Not quite as unknown as he was a few years ago. Great player.

Glad he is going to stay in Buffalo. A great all around player, in spite of his awful NHL 09 ratings
