2008 NHL Entry Draft

Might be some big deal going down. Stamkos is a lock at #1.

Re: 2008 NHL Entry Draft

There is a rumor going around that the Habs have traded the #25 pick in the draft for the negotion rights with Sundin, which probably means a deal is already in place contract-wise.

I'll watch as much as I can get away with just to see if any deals go down. There's a lot of talk (Jokinen, Marleau & negotiating rights) but it remains to be seen how much movement we'll see. I know the Predators dealt Chris Mason (G) to the Blues for a 4th-rounder today...

It'll be interesting to see how the 1st round of the Draft does ratings wise as this is the first time they'll be airing it in prime time.

Sundin is as good as gone.

THANK GOD!

TSN reports that there is a trade in the works that has Calgary dealing Alex Tanguay to Montreal for the #25 pick.

Looks like it's all but done. It looks like Montreal is really trying to load up for a Cup or bust run this year if they can add Sundin as well.

Wow! Now they are reporting that LA traded Cammalleri to Calgary.

Calgary sends their first round selection (17th overall) to the Kings who then ship that pick and the 28th overall selection to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for the Ducks' 12th overall draft pick.

I know he had a bad year last year, but the guy has tons talent and is only two years removed from an 80 point season. As for the Ducks another great move to acquire a top half first round prospect.

Wow Florida really fleeced themselves with that Jokinen trade. How is that a good deal for Florida, Maguire? They could have gotten a way better deal for him.

Holy Moses!

Jokenin to Phoenix for Ballard, Boynton and #49.

This is better than the trade deadline.
I really like Ballard. Nice job to reinforce the D corps for Florida.
