According to the Columbus Post-Dispatch the Jackets are close to acquiring the negotiation rights for Ryan Malone.

According to Darryl Sutter via the Calgary Sun the Flames have a verbal agreement to re-sign Daymond Langkow

Jesus, that's a lot of money for someone i'm not sure is worth it.

That what happens when someone has a good playoffs. Cash in the following offseason. He's a good player, but he's not a superstar by any stretch.

The frustrating thing for me is that the Jackets are close...but doing stuff like this just makes me scratch my head sometimes.

BTW, some places are saying the Pens get the 19th pick...

If that is true...God help me.

It helps when Malone is on a line with Malkin and Sykora.

Malone was born and raised in Pittsburgh and you love to keep those guys, but he's not worth that much money.

Smart of him to do so. His value probably is never going to be higher so he should be looking for the best deal possible. I just hope the Lightning or Ducks aren't the team to overpay him.
