Next season's change to the NHL schedule

Every team plays each other at least once.

How do you feel about this?

Other changes:
- season openers outside of North America again
- (possible) changes to goaltender equipment
- another Winter Classic... seriously, why? Is it necessary to have one every year? It just takes away from this event.

They want a game in Yankee stadium so this is not so surprising. Sometimes I wish Montreal and Edmonton never did the Heritage Classic because Little Napoleon has decided that no Canadian teams can play in it BLAH.

It's not special anymore if it's done every year IMO.

True, and it's also a bit of a novelty but I think it's fun for the fans. I mean there's lots of special events that occur every year and I don't see people saying to stop them. (an example being the annual Ohio St./Michigan football game)

You gotta build tradition somehow, I just wish they'd allow the Canadian teams to be involved. I mean it'd be wicked to have a Leafs (well when they're good again) vs Detroit game at Nathan Phillips Square or at the Big House in Michigan.

I wouldn't mind a Montreal - Toronto game at the big O or perhaps at Jarry Park. That would be friggin' incredible! Though, by doing this every year it's going to lose the excitement. Sooner or later people won't care about it (which won't be good since it brings in a lot of revenue).

About the schedule changes, I'm glad we'll see the West teams at least once. I haven't seen my cousin Mike play hockey since he was at Michigan, and if L.A would visit it would be great. It's better than playing the Carolina Hurricanes 5 times in the first 6 games.

There's no way they can have a hockey game at Jarry. The old stadium might have been able to have it back when it still looked more like a baseball stadium than a tennis one but since they built the new tennis complex 12 years ago, the centre court stadium is not big enough to build a rink in.

I think their only option would be Molson/McGill stadium where the Als play.

Yeah and that holds a mere 5-7k more seats than the Bell Centre does. Not enough.

Ah it was just me dreaming a bit. It would be nice at the big O though.

The big O is really a dome and a dump. Even with no roof it's more indoor than outdoor if that makes sense since the hole where the roof would be is not all that big. What's the point of an outdoor game played indoors.

hahhahaa...I read it would cost 500 million to end it's misery and scrap the big O.

What a pathetic piece of architecture...
