Breaking News: Sean Avery rushed to hospital

Scrolling along the ESPN bottom line now:

"New York Daily News reports Rangers LW Sean Avery rushed to hospital in cardiac arrest early Wednesday morning; Avery was unconscious and not breathing; no word given on his condition."

Well that certainly doesn't add up. A lacerated spleen doesn't cause cardiac arrest, does it?

I guess it could eventually lead to that if you lose enough blood. Spleen injuries are very sneaky. You lose blood internally. If he went to sleep while bleeding internally, I imagine it could have gotten very bad by morning.

Edit: I see TSN says he was taken to the hospital immediately after the game, which certainly wasn't at 3 am as reported by ESPN. It also says he should make a full recovery during the offseason. So I guess ESPN got some inaccurate info with the cardiac arrest thing.
