They seem to have slow starts when on the road. If they lose tonight they better win their remaining two home games if they want to make the playoffs. If Caps make the playoffs whether it's 3rd or 8th spot they will be tough to beat.

Definitely getting the the short stick w/these penalties. That very questionable goalie interference turned momentum. & the one on Hedican was ludicrous. Heddy did absolutely nothing, Ovechkin initiated the "altercation", & somehow the Canes have to kill a PP to open the 3rd.

Got a must win last night. A Wash loss or a win vs Florida gives the Canes the division. Washington has it pretty good. They get to play the same opponents as Carolina to end the year. But they get them a night after the Canes play them. They should get 4 points easy. Pressure is on the Flyers & Bruins.

Canes are playing like they did mid winter. Defensemen aren't playing smart. Down 3-1 in the 2nd.

Yep Canes better hope Boston loses because I don't see Florida get this lucky against the Caps as well.

Well, Canes season ended tonight. Sucks that they were in the lead for all but about a week & don't make it in. Last game, the problem they had before the All Star break stepped up. Undisciplined play by the defensemen & Ward not being able to rise to the occasion. The back line & backup goalie must be priorities in the offseason.
Tell ya. Bad day to be a sports fan in North Carolina. Favorite hockey team & basketball team are going fishing.:-):-)[Reply]

Cam Ward is becoming a one hit wonder.
They should look into acquiring Gerber for the regular season and playing Ward in the playoffs.

I'm too much of a novice to claim to know what they need. But I think even a nut such as myself can tell the Canes problem is on the defensive side. Only 5 squads gave up more goals. Only 3 were worse on the kill. They've been looking for bargains for too long back there. Its time to bring in some D's who can set up others while sticking to their 1st mission: protect the goal.
