Nothing like choking away 2 points...
The Penalty Kill is horrific, and Donald Brashear has no business playing in the NHL.

I'm not one to complain about the Refs...but they were horrible tonight.

Apparently they don't swallow their whistles at the end anymore....they just choose when to nibble on it....apparently they had one with gristle in it and were still chewing with 30 secs. to go and Gagne is getting thrown around simply trying to kill the PK and time.

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

A lot of question marks for the Flyers after last night's OT loss to the Flyers... discipline, PK, and goaltending. It doesn't exactly help your cause when the PK is crummy --- now officially worst in the league. Now Esche is starting to break down also...

It's the consistancy (or lack of) that bothers me more then anything. I too hate blaming the refs, but it sure seemed like they were trying to let the Thrashers get back into that game! The call on Hatcher and then the non call against Gagne had me throwing things at my TV. If you're going to call everything then you have to do it the whole game no matter what.

Maybe it's time to get rid of the two referee system? I think the problem comes when one ref decides to call EVERYTHING and another will let some stuff go. Then it all depends on which end of the ice a player gets tripped or hooked.

I give Hitch credit for keeping his cool in the post game interview. I would have went off about that crap officiating, and they could fine me as much as they wanted. I felt like I was watching a video game with crappy comeback AI!!!

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

After Friday's 3rd period collapse, it was a wonderful to see the boys completely dominate the Pens during the final period of last night's game. I'm still worried about the amount of bad goals we're allowing. With Rico returning shortly, I hope Therien finds a nice comfortable seat in the press box.

I think the Rathje penalty on the Crosby dive really fired the Flyers up last night. The kid was on his way down before Rathje's stick even touched him. Even Forsberg had some words for him. The kid is the best young talent the league has seen since Mario Lemieux, but he's earning himself a pretty bad repuation...of course, that's only if the Refs start to buy into what we're preaching.

Aside from Gagne and Forsberg, Jeff Carter has clearly been the best forward on this team over the past 3 weeks. He's everywhere, even strength, on the power play, on the penalty kill. This kid can fly, and has a wicked wrister. He reminds me so much of Mike Modano.

Whoa...the injuries are adding up. I think the Patrick Sharp trade was made to possibly make room for another trade.

I was thinking that as well, but who the heck would we trade? Handzus is normally the popular rumor, but I sure wouldn't move him with Forsberg and Primeau on the shelf.

I agree. Plus, the more Clarke says nothing is happening, the more you know something is most definitely happening.

All these injuries are ridiculous though....make it stop!!!

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

Rico left tonight's game with a shoulder injury...it's getting out of hand.

Skerik, if the Luongo rumors are true, I'm all for it. However, I don't want them to involve Richards, Carter, or Pitkanen.
