Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers (Established 2005)

Yeah man, Carter is a goal scoring machine. I always knew he had it in him. He stepped it up a notch last year and now he's setting the bar even higher. He certainly is finding the back of the net this year!

And I'll say it again, Martin Biron has to be the starting goalie for the Flyers. Thankfully, John Stevens has been sticking with him mostly. Biron, I believe, is more consistent and overall more solid then Niittymaki. Also, Biron controls his rebounds a hell of a lot better then Niitty. Gosh, I was at the Thrashers/Flyers game a week ago and Niitty couldn't control anything. I feel much more confident with Biron in net and we know from last year's playoffs that he can steal some games himself too.

They have definitely caught fire and are on a 6 game winning streak. We get Carolina this afternoon to try and make it 7 games. C'mon boys!

That's just a bad, bad lost to the Devs. Somebody please remind Biron that he is not Brodeur.

I was at the game and it was just depressing the mood when Elias tied it up and won it. It seemed like we turned the puck over an inordinate amount of times. Luca Sbisa looked like he did in the beginning of the season, turning the puck over multiple times.

Biron played well except for his miscue which ultimately sent it to overtime. I've got to praise his ability to keep his rebounds to a minimum though. He doesn't make me nearly as anxious as Niittymaki, who lets up 50000 rebounds a game.

This is very true. Nitty can jump around between the pipes like a chimp on ether, but he's legitimately awful with his rebounds. Marty isn't outstanding in that respect, but he's a hell of a lot better than Nitty is.

I was also at the game. Bottom line: Marty either needs to learn how to play the puck, or stop thinking he's Brodeur back there. He had at least three dead giveaways last night where he crept way out of the net and put the puck right on Devils' sticks with Flyers all around him. It's really quite a knack he has, to find the one opposing player in our zone and give him the puck in spite of being surrounded by orange jerseys.

Deflating loss last night, but it's just one game. Richie and Carts were shut down last night for one of the only games this season, but our special teams were tremendous once again with two PPG and one successful PK after another. We definitely need to get some production from guys not named Richards and Carter though, because when they're shut down we invariably lose. But that's true for most teams in the NHL and their two top guns, I guess.

Hopefully, they do not look past Carolina to Saturday. But I am most definitely clearing my schedule for 1PM for Phi/Pitt.
