Hopefully Gagne won't have any more head problems. Our curse with the concussions need to fade FAST.

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers (Established 2005)

Let me congratulate you guys on a great season by the Flyers. As has been said many times, to go from the worst record in the league to the Conference Finals is a tremendous turnaround. You have a relatively young core of players that provides a solid foundation for an elite team for the next several years and aside from some re-tooling on the blueline, are not in need of much to improve for next season. Hopefully Gagne can make a full recovery, as he is a tremendous player and I'd hate to see another situation like Primeau.

Also, let me compliment you directly on the classy way you guys handled losing. I'm completely serious here, as I expected things to get a little more chippy, given Flyers fans exuberant love for their team. Maybe we can all sit down and have a cheesesteak and a beer together some day...

Flyer fans,

I know it sucks now but you should be proud of your team. They had a tremendous turn around and I only see them being better next year

You're a Browns fan living in Pittsburgh. That's fundamentally wrong.

That aside, thanks guys.

I hope Gagne comes back strong. I followed this guy throughout his whole career (juniors and so on), and it is too bad thees injuries are halting his career. He would've no doubt helped Philly in these playoffs; the guy is a beast.

Other than that, you guys got a nice young team and have a future captain in Mike Richards, who is just a phenomenal player. Things can only get better in the future.

Great Season...can't wait for next year....In the past, my frustrations would cause me to root vehemently against whoever beat the Flyers...but I'm definitely rooting for the Pens in the Finals.

Gagne will help out and so will Giroux....We need to add some D-line depth...

I don't think Smith or Hatcher will be back. ...What ever happened to Gauthier after getting injured? Is he still toiling with the Phantoms?

Gauthier actually had a nice season for the Phantoms and led the entire team in +/-. But we couldn't call him up once their season ended because he would have had to clear waivers and someone would have snagged him.

My understanding is that he was sent down primarly to stay under the salary cap, although with some of the injuries on the blueline during the season you have to think he might not be in management's good graces. I thought it was odd as he was always a decent defenseman if used in the right role. I know he cleared waivers before being assigned to the AHL, so maybe the league knows something we don't about him. An article I read recently suggested that he could be back with the big club for next season...

I've had a few days to decompress...despite losing in the conference finals, I am extremely proud of how the Flyers did in the playoffs. It was an up and down season, but that run in the postseason was a fun ride! This team has a good young core and should contend for years to come.

The Penguins were undoubtedly the better team...congrats and good luck to you in the Finals against the Red Wings.

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers (Established 2005)

Pretty early to be talking about this, but Jeff Carter is a free agent this offseason (I'm pretty sure he's restricted, though). Do you guys see us resigning him?

I sure hope so. Jeff Carter stepped his game up this year and if it wasn't for Mike Richards becoming such a dominant force, we'd all be talking about how much Carter has evolved. Everytime he touches the puck I feel like there's a chance he can score with that sweet wrist shot he has. Resigning him should be #1 or #2 on the list of things to do this offseason. I'll seriously be crushed if we can't get him back.
