Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers (Established 2005)

A lot of networks and sports writers don't seem to be giving Philly much of a chance against the Caps. I'm not predicting a win or anything, but I think we have a damn good shot! This series should go at least 6 games... while Washington has been white hot, we haven't exactly been slumping these past few weeks.

Ahhhh... playoff hockey is back in Philly. Best time of the year... CAN'T WAIT!!!

Yeah, man, I'm pumped for playoff hockey. That game against NJ was playoff style intensity and if that's what we see when the real playoffs start, then we're in for some good things.

After all the dust cleared, the Flyers were on a nice roll heading into the playoffs. Of course we get the hottest team in the NHL to play in the first round, but hey, if we can't beat them why should we be able to beat anyone else.

I give us just as good a chance as the Caps in winning this thing. Everyone seems to forget that the Capitals were average the whole year. Yes, once you get on a roll it seems like you can't lose, but it is possible. It's an inexperienced Capitals team. Who knows how they'll play. This isn't going to be a cakewalk for either team, it's going 6 or 7 grueling games and it's going to be a hell of a series. Definitely the best first round matchup.

It's not as much that a certain team has your number as much as it is that a certain goalie might have your number. Here's praying that the Habs get knocked out before the Flyers see them.

Ugh, yeah, Carey Price has been spectacular against us. And with Montreal's track record of having record goalies in the playoffs, I don't want to run into them if we make it out of the 1st round.

Boston and Ottawa wont do their part. If we get through the Caps, we get Montreal next round. They are the 1 seed. 1 plays the weakest seed remaining. That would be the Flyers at 6. Montreal is taking care of the Bruins. The Penguins are manhandling Ottawa. who would be the 7th seed. If one were to upset though, we would get the winner of the NJ/NYR in round 2. Thats isnt gonna happen though.

Actually, that's fine then. If the Flyers can continue with this type of play and intensity, bring on Price and the Habs. They'll have to either beat them or a team like them the higher up they travel in the playoff brackett. Bring it on!

Yeah, to be the best you have to beat the best. Plus, might as well throw all the regular season **** out the door because it ain't the regular season anymore.

Good win tonight...at times, the Flyers didn't have that same intensity they had in games 1-3...Glad to see Timonen in....and Hatcher's doing a stellar job...

Hope they beat the Caps on Saturday....or it could get interesting...probably not..but you never know...Coulda went either way tonight....

Jeff Carter has been incredible!!!

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers (Established 2005)

I'm not sure that the Flyers didn't have the same intensity, I think the Capitals just played a much better game and made good adjustments. Everyone saw how they changed up their powerplay and it was way more lethal (maybe not on the scoreboard but the chances they created) then the first three games. And I think they did a good job of coming out and asserting themselves against a physical Flyers team. They did things they had to do.

We just did them better.

Everyone see the Washington Post's comments about the series, and the Flyers in general. I believe the author was Mike Wise. Someone needs to tell him it's the NHL playoffs. He wouldn't know anything about that though.

Too little, too late....Stupid penalities...
Hatcher looked good..

The constant Ovechin talk is getting tired on the broadcast...Washington came out stronger today...

Orange and black better win on Monday....
