The difference is that none of us came on here defending what players like Boulerice and Downie did, because their actions were clearly illegal and outside the bounds of play. But your ridiculous defense of Laraque's takeout of Biron would be like us claiming that Boulerice was swinging at a fly on Ryan Kesler's head and ended up cross checking him in the face by accident.

I don't know it looks like George was not trying to do that on purpose.

Crosby's a punk bitch. Every time he plays the Flyers, that simp is always yapping and chirping and then runs away like his balls haven't dropped yet.

Best player in hockey or not, I can't stand that butt clown.

Take that back.

BTW it was obvious what Laraque was doing.

And, Devils/Flyers on Sunday.

then i said, i don't condone any player doing stuff like that at all no matter if on the Pens or not.. if he did that on purpose then yes that was bs. read people

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers (Established 2005)

Okay....he lost an edge going.... 1.5 mph. He sucks at skating. Maybe it's time to hang them up George.

As far as "running up the score", let's actually hear from the guys who PLAY the game:

“It’s the NHL. It’s the best players in the world, and you don’t have to lay off anyone,” said Mike Knuble, who tallied on the power play late in the second period. “We want to show other people that when we get teams down we want to stay on top of them and not give them a chance to get back in it or show any mercy. It’s a good message to send not only in that game, but to the rest of the people watching.”

“When you get a power play, what are you supposed to do, just pass the puck around your own end? This is two professional hockey teams going against one another,” said Biron, who picked up his 13th victory of the season. “If you have a chance to score, you’re going to score.”

Hmmm...I wonder if any Penguins players would disagree with that. I mean if that's that case, then when you've beaten a team 7 times in a year, do you let them win game 8....or is that "running up the series"?

Your right, running up the score should be allowed cause it is professional. But throwing cheap elbows when up by 5 isn't.

Richards signs 12 (not a typo) year extension:
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=225091&hubname=

I know the length of the deal sounds DiPietro-ly scary, but I am loving that we locked this kid up. He is the heart and soul of this team --- great player at both ends of the ice, and a leader at every level he has played at. He will be the captain of the Flyers sooner than later.

He is worth the money, and this contract will continue to be a bargain as years go by and F/A salaries continue to escalate.

Kudos to Holmgren as usual!

Great points, Flyermania, and the exact same reasons why I love the deal. After what we saw last offseason, no way we give another team the chance to tender Richards.

The new face of Flyers hockey!
