Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

Speaking of the Rags, I work with a guy who was really shooting his mouth off about them a few weeks ago. I kept reminding him about the games in hand, but he kept pointing me towards the standings and saying how the Flyers would have to win every one of those games for them to make a sizable difference in the points race.

I saw him yesterday in the hallway and said, "Hey, remember how I was telling you about those games we had in hand?" He shook his head and just said, "Yeah yeah...."

After tonight's game, I guess you can keep talkin' to him?? lol Now, they're only 1 point behind Ottawa overall with only 1 more game played. They're gettin' just downright scary!

All of this without Pitkanen, Desjardins, and Primeau...scary indeed.

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

I think a Devils/Brodeur beat down tonight would send a nice message to the rest of the league, especially since it seems like the Devils are believing a resurgence is happening in right coast!

GL tonight guys. Yes we are feeling a resurgence and a win tonight would solidify that. Should be a good game. Brodeur has played better of late and Elias being back has woken up the offense a bit. Hopefully we come out and play like we have and pull this one out.

Agreed, with the return of Elias, the Devs appear to finally have snapped out of their slide. The D is starting to come together, and having Brodeur doesnt hurt, either. You guys are due for a loss. But, we'll see.

We are definitely due for a loss after starting this 11 game road trip 7-0-1. The boys should be rested though, having 2 days off since our last game, and Niitty has been on top of his game. It should be a battle.

Yeah, but the whole rest thing is overrated. Sometimes teams that have rested for 4 days come out completely flat. Plus, im not sure how long Niittymaki can play well, but at least you don't have Esche playing.

I don't see how rest can be "overrated". In the midst of an 11 game road trip, having a couple days off between games is huge, rather than playing in a different city every other night, or even back to back nights.

Doubt Niitty all you want, but his play isn't exactly a surprise. He was spectacular during the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms Calder Cup run last season. Many expected him to step up this season, and challenge Esche for the number one spot.

Only two days until I'll be on the glass for the Flyers/Hawks game! I can't wait, especially with the way the Flyers are playing...
