That's great to hear. After the way we played defensively against Calgary Tuesday night, with only 5 defensemen, I also think we should ride it out. It's too early to panic. It's early December, and we're only 4 points behind a Rangers team that has played 4 more games than us.

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

Latest rumor, posted at OrangeandBlack.net:

This was posted by one of the three "rumor guys" on flyersphans. Also of note, Eklund reported yesterday that were numerous scouts at the game, and there were whispers of a Luongo deal. So, that being said, this probably won't happen. I thought I'd pass it along however, and open things for discussion.

Flyers get: Robert Luongo, Sean Hill, Lukas Krajicek

Panthers get: Kim Johnsson, Michal Handzus, Antero Niittymaki, picks

I have made my feelings known about Luongo before, I think this is a GOLDEN chance for us and everyone in the league. An elite goalie right in his prime becomes avaliable maybe once every 10 years. That is a very good package we'd be giving up, but to get Luongo and still have Forsberg, Gagne, Carter, Richards, Pitkanen would be a coup. Hill is a decent defensemen, and Krajicek was a first round pick in 2001 who has mobillity and offensive potential. This move would leave us a bit thin at center, but SFW.

Our new lineup (with everyone hopefully healthy, other than Primeau)

Gagne - Forsberg - Knuble
Umberger - Carter - Sim
Kapanen - Richards - Stevenson
Brashear/Savaqe - Ellison - Radivojevic

Pitkanen - Rathje
Hatcher - Desjardins
Krajicek - Hill

Luongo
Esche

We would have one of the top first lines in the league, depth but no true second line, a top notch, balanced defense, and one of the top 5 goalies in the league. We would likely be able to make a trade at the deadline for a legit top 6 winger as well.

I would make this trade without a second thought. I hope Clarke goes out and gets Luongo, even if he has to move ONE of the wonder kids. You just don't get chances like this often. Considering Clarke said he wasn't interested in Luongo, you can bet something might be going on.

I saw that one too. If we could lock-up Luongo and sign him, I would do that trade in a heartbeat. I doubt Keenan would though.

Yeah, I'm not so sure Mike would do that.

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

Finally, some good injury news! Forsberg and Esche are set to return tomorrow:

Seems a bit quick for Esche, but more than likely Niittymaki will still be getting the start.

Gagne out "approximately 2 weeks."

I really am just speechless at this point.
