Skerik, if the Luongo rumors are true, I'm all for it. However, I don't want them to involve Richards, Carter, or Pitkanen.
Agreed 100%. We need to hold on to those guys.

I think I'm in agreement with that as well. This team, despite all the veteran players on its roster, seems desperate for leadership and it looks like Richards provides that. Plus, he's probably our best faceoff guy right now (which isn't saying much). Carter is one of our only wingers who can pick corners and has a nose for the net, so he's not tradeable. And Pitkanen....no. Just no.

Nice win last night. When Nitty keeps his head in the game for 60 minutes, he's a pretty good goalie. At this point though, even with Pitkanen and Seids back in the picture, I still think we're a defenseman or two away from making a deep playoff run right now. And at some point this season, mark my words, our inability to win faceoffs will kill us.

Btw, did the goal horn scare anyone else last night? I was expecting the Blur goal song when Richards scored and instead I thought we were being air-raided....

I was only watching the game on TV, but I heard the different horn. Ugh... I heard rumors they got a new horn and I guess it's true. I loved the old horn, and i'll be disappointed if they did away with it for good.

Boo to artificial noise!

(Then again, I hope we are hearing that horn a lot all the way into summer!)

I know, the Blur song was classic. I haven't heard the new one yet.

The injuries keep on coming, don't they... good win yesterday though vs the Flames. Great goaltending on both sides.

Maybe Sami will see some time on defense? He did pretty well a couple years ago.

As for last night's game, was everyone able to get their Peter Forsberg bobblehead?

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

I was thinking about moving Sami to defense as I watched the game last night, but the forwards are kind of a mess right now as well. But there does seem to be a little more forward talent down on the farm than defense talent right now, so maybe that's not a bad idea. At least Sami will provide some quickness back on D, which we're sorely lacking right now with Joni and Rico both out. Only Johnsson is capable of rushing the puck up ice right now.

And yes, got my Forsberg bobblehead. Did you see the Hatcher wind-up walker they're giving away in the near future? I like how it moves at actual Hatcher speed....

They showed the new horn on Coatesy's Corner after the 1st intermission. Sucks...the old horn was my favorite .

Re: The Official Thread of the Philadelphia Flyers

Seidenberg is 60/40 to play tonight, so he should be back by the weekend at the latest. If he doesn't go tonight, expect to see Kapanen on the blueline.

There have been an unbelievable amount of injuries, but I feel it's best to ride them out. Meyer, Jones, and Seidenberg can band-aid patch oour defense for now. I would absolutely not want to make a hasty trade and part with any of our youth (Pitkanen, Richards, Carter). If anything, deal one of our surplus of second round picks that Clarke has stockpiled.

Edit: Seidenberg and Stevenson will both be back tonight: http://www.philadelphiaflyers.com/sc...views/2328.asp
