Wow, what the hell. Just saw this in OS Neighborhood, thought it was a bad joke or something. I only rooted for the chargers once (against the 49ers in the Super Bowl) but Seau was always one my favorite NFL players back then.

Man, this is terrible, especially for the children. How old are they?

RIP Junior.

Very shocked by this. I can't imagine what family and friends are going through. I've been fortunate to not have to face tragedies like this with anyone close to me thus far in life.

It sucks it happened this way, but I suspect that the tone of discussion on the NFL's emphasis on safety will shift big time. There are still a lot of people out there who act like the league has been overprotective. If research shows a link between head trauma and any kind of disorder that may have caused serious depression in Seau, then some people are finally going to take notice. The research is already out there, but because of his success, Seau will get much more attention and be a face of this issue.

RIP.

This whole thing has me really creeped out. I had two major concussions within a year of each other when I was 10-11 years old (actually had a hairline fracture in my skull due to one of them, bump is still on my forehead from it) and I'm afraid this might happen to me at some point.

Re: R.I.P. Junior Seau 1969-2012

Very sad to hear this news, I was shocked. I was screening a possible new client at work today and he saw part of my Charger Bolt tatt on my forearm. He tells me "sucks about Seau huh" I told him I had no idea what he was talking about.

Then he told me and it flattened me, was easily one of my favorite Bolts of all time. By the time I was leaving my facility I had gotten about 6 text messages about it. My mom and sister live in S.D., they were the first texts I got.

So sad about this tragic suicide. I loved that guy man, very bad news.

R I P Junior Seau, you'll be missed.

Definitely quite a shame for his children, wife, other family, and friends.
