They NFLPA warned the Saints coaches players that it is possible, and that if it happened they hired legal counsel. I don't see any player stepping up and filing a suit, though.

Here's an article about it. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...minal-charges/

EDIT: The only warned players, obviously, but I would think the liability could extend to the coaches. It is illegal in any context to directly pay someone to cause harm to another person, after all.

A whole completely different story bud. There was nothing illegal or even anywhere near drawing a flag, they blitzed in a FOOTBALL game get over it.

Simply being hurt during a game vs the Saints isn't enough.

Yeah I heard on the radio that player-to-player suing would be super unlikely since they are all part of the NFLPA, so I wondered about player-to-coach

Yeah, I'm sure Williams told them to all out blitz every play that game, but don't hurt anyone! Face the facts, the Saints have been a dirty team for a few years now and it's about time it gets fully exposed.

Re: Gregg Williams ran a bounty system in NOLA

This whole thing makes me sick to my stomach. There are a few people, not just here but everywhere, saying some of this is just the usual pre-game type speech. If I'm a coach, I would at least sound a little bit more passionate and energetic about it.

Speeches to me are usually the whole "This is our time, we're a team, we got to go out there and win this". Williams sounds nothing like this. His tone is serious, his words are serious, and his telling his players exactly what to do, who to go for, where to hit.

I can't help but feel sorry for that city. The Saints helped re-build it, but all of that now is tarnished because a couple of coaches and maybe a whole defense were out trying to cause serious injuries. I don't care who's fault it is, the way I feel, that whole organisation, or at least the people who knew and/or took part in the scheme, should be completely ashamed with themselves, and deserve the same fate of the people they tried to put out. Not playing or coaching ever again.

It may sound a bit over the top, but I feel very strongly about this and there just no place for it. Hope everyone respects that.

Dirty in the sense of bounties? Yeah sure that's kinda obvious. Go watch the tape and there's not much there outside of the few hits you expect to see over a season or much difference in the injuries they caused compared to what is average.

I don't know what he told them, but the players didn't try to hurt anyone that game and they blitzed getting ready for the season(Since you know they blitzed about 50% of the time normally in the season)

The "cut off the head and the body will die" is football talk. Telling players to go after an ACL or an ankle crosses the line. I hope he's banned from the league. I'm sure he's blackballed either way.
