Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread

It'd be best for him to go to Arizona imo, like said he'd benefit from playing with Fitz.

I really want the Falcons to cut Robinson an Edwards. Two worthless FA signings. Who are the top DEs an CBs available? We have to go at FAs because we gave up our 2012 draft for Julio who has proven to be worth it so far. As ling as the contracts are reasonable.

I don't know if the Falcons can really focus on finding upgrades in free agency. They have a ton of notable free agents to resign. I can imagine some of these guys demanding monster contracts as well.

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread

Manningham is just a touch below what it takes to be a #1 WR in the league. His route running is inconsistent and he has trouble hanging onto the ball at times. I think he benefited greatly from having Hakeem Nicks and the emergence of Victor Cruz on the field with him. It gave him a chance to find the open spots on the field to get the ball. He would struggle and some of the flaws in his game would show up in spades if he went on to be a #1 receiver with the Bears or Browns. He needs to be somewhere where he can benefit from teams planning against the #1 guy.

I just don't see Manningham as being the kind of guy who can create space for himself and getting the ball in tough situations. he's essentially an Alvin Harper of this generation. He's the kind of guy where you see the athletic ability and think "if given a chance to be a #1 he'd be great" but the folks that think this way overlook the flaws in his game.

If he's smart he'll go to Arizona.

I'd link Finnegan to the Lions too, we need a number 1 CB badly and Schwartz was his coach.

Lions should resign Cliff Avril and begin looking at Calvin Johnson long term (I think he's a rfa or in his last year of his deal in 2012).

What about Thomas DeCoud? He's been the Falcons' starting FS for 3 seasons now.

He's soft against the run. An not very good in coverage. Every time I see a big play he's usually messing up. Now our other safety Moore, he's always around the ball. He's also always hurt....

Oh ok. Just curious that's all. Really don't know much about DeCoud, so it was nice to hear an opinion about him.

Yea personal I feel he is the definition of average. We aren't good against the pass anyways an he makes no difference so I don't mind letting him walk. He can stay as long as the contract is reasonable.
