Sunday Night Football: Packers vs. Bears

The NFL's Longest Standing Rivalry picks back up where it left off last season as the Bears and Packers meet on Sunday Night for their first games of the season.

Both teams looking to improve from last season as they both have made some significant changes to their rosters with the Bears giving up 2 1st rd picks to get QB Jay Cutler from Denver and also picking up T Orlando Pace from the Rams and the Packers are looking to Former Patriots DC Dom Capers to help turn around a Defense that failed them in many games last season.

I'll make a prediction for this as toward the end of the week but you guys can go ahead and make yours right now.

It's all about GB's defense. Because I don't think the Bears are going to give up that many points to them. So if their new defense can hold Forte, I think it'll be a close game. I think the Bears win it.

I don't really think you're going to see that many points on the board.

Why not? Both defenses are not that good, although I will concede that the Bears run defense is pretty good.

Aaron Rodgers is gonna be ripping the Bears secondary to shreds, though.

Re: Sunday Night Football: Packers vs. Bears

It's a rivalry game, and the first game of the season for both teams. Odds are that their defenses step it up in a big way. I'm not that sold on GB's run defense, which is why I think Chicago could end up putting up some decent points. Curious to see Kampman as a LB'er in a 3-4, that could end up being brutal for the opposition.

I think Chicago will stop Ryan Grant without problems, and it's going to make things more difficult for Rodgers.

Both teams have QB's who can put up points, so I'm not completely writing off that it could be a somewhat high scoring game, I just don't think it is.

I think you're giving the Bears a lot of credit on defense that they do not deserve.

This isn't the early-mid 2000's Bears D we are talking about here. They are aging and looked really not good last year. In fact, they were one of the worst pass defense's, statistically, in the NFL last year.

I think with the way AR has played since he's become the starter in GB, he's going to light the Bears D up like a Christmas Tree Sunday night.
