Some people took a Monday night game tonight, so I'll likely post Week 2 tomorrow afternoon.

I almost went with the upset 49ers over Cards. I should have and saved the Saints for later in the year.

Nah the Saints were the only real lock in the first week.

Really? I would say the Vikings were all but locks as well, Seattle winning 28-0 showed they were pretty much a lock to beat the Rams as well.

No one would've known that the Seahawks would beat the Rams that bad and more people seemed to give the Browns a chance at winning.

Huh? Where did you get this info from? The Seahawks have been predicted to run away with the division and the Vikings are supposendly a Super Bowl contender and yet the mighty Rams and Browns were somehow given a shot to win? Whatever you say, I never heard a single person saying that the Browns or the Rams could win this weekend so for me they were locks to lose and thats exactly why I took the Vikings.

I don't see why it's a big deal for you. I saw a few people on here and heard more than a few people outside of the internet giving the Browns a shot to win. The Seahawks had players at key positions playing their first meaningful game in awhile so I don't know how you would call that a lock. The Lions were one season removed from being the worst team in the NFL with a rookie head coach and quarterback and the Saints have been one of the top offenses every year. It was pretty much a given that the Saints would win easily.

Re: Official OS NFL Suicide Pool '09 - Discussion Thread

This week I don't think there is one single lock.

I would go in this order in terms of closest bets:

1. Vikings [road] over Lions
2. Titans [home] over Texans
3. Packers [home] over Bengals

I would never put my money on the Redskins nor the Bills, but I see two people have picked both of those teams this week. Well at least they're both playing at home.

I'll be picking one of these games.

STL @ WAS
NE @ NYJ
HOU @ TEN
MIN @ DET
TB @ BUF
PIT @ CHI
IND @ MIA

As bad as the Lions are, I would hesitate to pick the Vikings this week as they are playing a division rival. Titans didn't look so great against the Steelers and the Texans have been known to play in some amazingly close games, so for me I am going with the Packers over the Bengals.
