Atwater - 6'3" 220
Okoye - 6'1" 260

Also had good numbers as well
It was a great hit, but truth be told Okoye was dropping his hips to make a cut but made that decision about a second too late. If he had leaned forward and driven into Atwater the results would have been different.

In other words, it was a lucky shot.

Re: People who belong in the Hall Of Fame

I'm definately on the 'Ken Stabler to the Hall' side of the argument, but I can see the argument against it as well. I do think that those Raiders' teams get overlooked at times because of the success of the Steelers and Cowboys in the 70s. You could make an argument for any of those teams being the very best of the decade, though it is difficult to argue against Pittsburgh's rings.

The guy made impossible catches look routine. Moved the chains with third down conversions(I wish that stat was more readily accessible). And I don't understand how a receiver in the NFL can be dogged by being a stat hound. This isn't the NBA. Receptions, yards, touchdowns. That is how a receiver helps his team win. Oh, he looked like a pro bowl tackle blocking on the other side of Randy Moss as well. I also don't remember him being the problem in any big game the Vikings lost.

In the greatest comeback in NFL history, Reed practically carried his Jim Kelly-less, Thurman Thomas-less offense to victory. The guy was a key cog in one of the best offenses ever. I wasn't aware Andree Reed allow the Cowboys to drop 50 points or Scott Norwood to miss that FG. As a Fins fan, it pains me to compliment a member of the team that routinely demolished us, but Reed is a HOFer by any logical measure.

Is this mysterious "the clutch" only the Super Bowl? Does any HOFer need to win SBs? You're the only person I've ever seen use playoff success as a gauge for success on a position other than QB.

Bob Keuchenberg needs to get in the HOF already. You don't run for nearly 3000 yards in a season without great blockers like him, Jim Langer, and Larry Little.

Kenny Easley should get in. He's a bit like Dwight Stephenson in how he was a HOF caliber player whose career was cut short by injuries.

Dick LeBeau deserves consideration. He's near the top of the all time INTs list and is one of the best defensive coordinators out there, maybe even ever.

Tommy Nobis never gets his much deserved attention. Maybe he'll get in as an Old Timers candidate, but he was a dominant player on a bad team.

Re: Andre Reed again check this out

Andre Reed TDs (1985-1990)

Andre Reed TDs (1991-1994)

Still think he's not a HOFer? (Both are Youtube links)

Honor. The NFL is very often accused of being a league of thugs and criminals. Tillman very much uplifted the image of the league, and that's important.

I dont think he should be elected to the HOF but it would be totally justifiable for the hall to have a section dedicated to fallen heroes like Tillman or Joe Delaney (who only played a year and was an excellent RB for the Chiefs back in the 80s that died while rescuing people from drowning).
