Rice isn't eligible til 2010, Sanders 2011. I think the point of discussion is players who should have been voted in already that haven't been.

But thats due in large part to the QB rating, which itself is kind of sketchy. Still though, it is commonly referred to as a legitimate stat. Im not saying it has no validity but, rather, that the QB rating is highly arbitrary in how it weighs certain items and not the end all be all. The QB rating rewards you for not throwing the ball down the field.

Drew Pearson - all-70s team, numerous big-game memorable catches.

Bo Jackson - short career, but Gayle Sayers like.

Yeah, dunno if I mentioned him earlier in this thread (it's such a big one) but I agree with this. The thing is, I think that Landry at times underused Pearson. He made a lot of big catches and many ways was the Cowboys' version of Lynn Swann but having seen a lot of games of that Cowboy era i'm starting to see why some haven't voted him in. Pearson at times would not even really be a factor in the game. Most of the passing went to the TEs or RBs most of the time. Pearson would get a catch here and there and almost always get a HUGE catch but in retrospect I think a lot of people's memories are playing tricks with reality.

I still think Pearson belongs in the Hall though as his numbers and accomplishments are in line with other WRs of his era.

I forgot about Pearson. Yeah he made big catches at the end of games alright. He was my favorite Cowboys receiver.
