Didn't say I blame LT. I'm saying it is a factor. The guy maybe 30, but that's 40 if he was a baseball pitcher. W/alot of innings.

They could have Walter Payton in his prime back there, and it wouldn't matter. The playcalling is predictable and they aren't blocking any one. And now the oline problems are starting to show in pass protection as well.

LT is not right, not sure the tanks on empty yet, but he's definitely not healthy. The oline and norv's pathetically predictable playcalling is not helping. AJ cutting Lorenzo Neal certainly hasn't helped either.

Take those away, he's avg a mere 3.5 per carry. He's had 4 yds per rush in just 4 games. In comparison, the Atlanta game was his 5th under 3yds per carry.

SD fans keep saying he's playing hurt. I believe that's an excuse. He's hit the wall. Only 17 players in history have carried the ball more than he has. If he were not to carry the ball another time this year, he's @ 321 att per season. Among those ahead of him, only Payton, George, Sanders & James have averaged more carries per year.
Dude the O-line is terrible. He doesn't have a FB that's worth a damn. Hester missed at least 5 easy blocks today just off the top of my head. Tolbert isn't very good. LT really misses Lo Neal. The man could block. But its hard to run when you are getting hit right when you receive the ball. When he has space, which is pretty much never, he has made plays.

See, that's it right there. Everytime you approach the possibility w/SD fans, they come up w/a bunch of excuses outside of LT's mileage.

We can all look @ the numbers & see LT is good. Why can't we look @ the numbers & see he's @ that point RB's his age, w/his wear & tear, eventually get too? The guy for a long time was the one thing the Chargers fans could hold their hat on. Now they seem reluctant to confront what maybe the truth.

They aren't excuses if they are true. If I thought he was out of gas, I'd say it. I don't see it, unless that toe injury is going to be a chronic one.

You can look at the numbers all you want, I've seen every snap he's taken this year. Their problems running the ball go far beyond LT being at the end of his career.

Re: Way to go Norv!!!

True the coach and front office is buffoonery at best, but I wait to see what this team looks like going in to next season with the talent healthy (if it does get healthy) and with some re-tooling.

Safety and o-line definitely need to be addressed, and maybe even RB. With those points of emphasis it's time to see if A.J. really is as good as he thinks he is. Then again, most important thing is also for Norv to get the team to not play so damn soft.

Re: Way to go Norv!!!

Last week against the Steelers, on his own 3 yard line, the Offensive Guru known as Norv Turner called not one BUT TWO consecutive 5 step drop passing plays. Results? Incomplete pass and fumble by Rivers that resulted in a safety.

How is that ANYONES fault but the coach? The absolute worst coach in NFL history. Bar None.

Considering how clueless the Chargers front office and ownership have been, Eli defintitely made the right decision. The Giants were in a similar spot as the Chargers with a disciplinarian coach that people claimed could not get over the hump. Unlike the Chargers firing Schott, the Giants stuck with Coughlin and the result is a Super Bowl and a 11-1 record.

I've watched every Chargers game this year and LT has no blocking at all. Yes he is reaching the Senior Citizen point as far as HB go in the NFL however its not a Shaun Alexander situation. Alexander just couldn't move anymore. LT still has his burst and moves but he can't get any blocking to do anything. Yes his toe has bothered him this year and who knows it might be a career ender when its all said and done but as of right know IMHO LT is still good to go. He just needs some help from his teammates.

You put him behind Minnesota's Oline and LT is leading the league in rushing.
