Maybe you should get your facts straight. The police didn't drop everything against him. The police can't even drop charges, that's a prosecutor's job. He accepted a plea deal. He pled no contest and is going to testify about the guy that opened fire. Because of the plea agreement, the prosecutors dropped felony charges of coercion. While Pacman said he didn't know the shooter, his defense attorney has not answered this question.

they dropped the INVESTIGATION of Jones, after they found Jones was not directly at fault, and kept the investigation to pursuing, and catching, the responsible party.

If the gunman was "one of Pac Man's boys" as you put it...the police, prosecutors, detectives, their dogs, their cats, and their moms would all have been continuing the investigation against Jones. While prosecutors determine charges and "prosecute", there are a lot of folks involved in investigations.

All of the people involved in the investigation found that Jones was not connected to the shooting any more than the club owner and other people involved in inciting the brawl were connected to the shooting (btw, the entire thing was on video, you cant go anywhere in Las Vegas without being on camera).

anyway, ****ed up crap like that happens around Jones. He is a **** magnet. I feel Jones has POS tendencies, and it was a mistake to bring him to the Cowboys. I definitely have a bad vibe about this deal

Thats not exactly how things went according to all the reports. The guy that was shot was working security. Pacman was upset with the owner/promoter for stealing his money that was in his personal bag, he apparetly just had a good day at the casinoes. either way he is a cowboy and hasn't been linked to the shooting and come to find out the shooter wasn't with him or his crew.

This moves immeadiately upgrades or secondary and improves feild position for the offense. Great low risk signing.

Nelly and a bunch of rappers were there also, and they were supposedly filming for something.

Jones had a bag filled with 60k, and the owner took it. The police found the bag of money up in the club owners room.

On the morning of February 19, 2007 during the 2007 NBA All-Star Game weekend in Las Vegas, Jones is alleged to have been involved in an altercation with an exotic dancer at Minxx, a local strip club. Jones and American rap artist Nelly patronized the club on the evening in question. Nelly began to shower the stage with hundreds of one-dollar bills, with fellow bad boy known only as Richard Rich, an act known as "making it rain." Jones then joined Nelly by throwing his own money for "visual effect." Club promoter Chris Mitchell then directed his dancers to collect the money. According to the club's co-owner, Jones became enraged when one of the dancers began taking the money without his permission. He allegedly grabbed her by her hair and slammed her head on the stage. A security guard intervened and scuffled with members of Jones' entourage of half a dozen people. Jones then allegedly threatened the guard's life.[34] During this time Mitchell and a male associate left the club with a garbage bag filled with $81,020 of Jones' money and two Breitling watches, which police later recovered.[35]

After club patrons exited following the original confrontation, the club owner says a person in Jones' entourage returned with a gun and fired into a crowd, hitting three people, including the security guard involved in the earlier skirmish. The guard was shot twice, and one of the people hit, former professional wrestler Tommy Urbanski, was paralyzed from the waist down. Jones maintains that he did not know the shooter, although the club's owner insists that Jones did. On March 26, 2007 the Las Vegas Police recommended to the city's district attorney that Jones be charged with one count of felony coercion and also a misdemeanor count of battery and a misdemeanor count of threat to life.[36]

More trouble followed Jones after the altercation, when drug dealer Darryl Moore reported to the police after being busted during a deal about his phone conversations with Jones. "We gotta slow down, man. We gotta get him focused on football, man. He's focused on too much other ****," Moore is alleged to have said. Wiretapped phone conversations between Moore and his friends revealed Moore talking about how Jones bet on college games to earn quick money. "You know, I was talkin' to him the other day about smokin', and he was like 'man, if I didn't smoke I couldn't take all the stress that I'm dealing with right now,'" Moore said.[37] Jones has not been connected to the Moore drug arrests or convicted for the Vegas stripper incident. But Titans management have said they will talk to Jones about his future with the Titans, and that there is always a possibility of letting him go. The NFL has issued an investigation into the situation, which is looking into setting up stricter penalties for off-field conduct.[38]

On June 20, 2007, the Las Vegas Police and Clark County District Attorney's office announced that Jones would face two felony charges stemming from the strip club melee.[39] But on November 13th, 2007, Jones accepted a plea deal[40]; on Dec. 6, Jones pleaded no contest to one charge of conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct, a misdemeanour. He was given a suspended prison sentence of a one-year, probation, and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.[41]

On June 25, 2007, Tommy Urbanski and his wife Kathy sued Jones in civil court, claiming that Jones had bitten his left ankle, and was responsible for the shooting.[42]. The lawsuit also named the Tennessee Titans franchise and the NFL as defendants, on the grounds that Jones's employers knew of his erratic behavior prior to the Minxx incident but did not suspend him until afterwards. Had the Titans suspended Jones prior to the NBA All-Star game, the suit argues, he would not have been invited to the Las Vegas events, and the incident would not have taken place.[43]

On April 21, a document revealed that Jones paid an extortion cash sum of $15,000 to various people after the Las Vegas shooting.

PacMan negotiated a plea to probation for one year, 200 hours of community service and random drug testing in exchange for information about the gunman. If he didn't negotiate the plea, then if found guilty, he could have been jailed from 1 to 6 years in prison.

Nobody dropped the charges, Packman negiated a plea bargaining.

Suspended NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones pleaded no contest Thursday to a reduced charge in a Las Vegas strip-club melee that preceded a triple shooting, which left a man paralyzed.

The Tennessee Titans cornerback appeared in Clark County District Court to take a plea deal that officials said will get him probation in return for his testimony about the gunman who opened fire outside the club at the end of NBA All-Star weekend in February.

The 24-year-old Jones, who is seeking reinstatement to the Titans, said little during the brief arraignment. He doffed a blue Texas Rangers baseball cap as he walked into court, handed it to a lawyer and answered "Yes, sir" to a judge who asked him if he understood the plea deal.

Jones will be sentenced to one year of probation for agreeing not to contest a charge of conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct, a gross misdemeanor, and to testify about the gunman.

Prosecutors dropped two charges of coercion, a felony carrying a possible sentence of one to six years in prison.

Clark County prosecutor Victoria Villegas has said authorities hope Jones can help identify the gunman.

Defense attorney Robert Langford has declined to say if Jones knows the shooter's identity.

No one has been charged in shooting, and Las Vegas police have not linked Jones to the gunfire.

Police have instead called Jones the instigator of the melee that broke out inside the club after he showered dancers with dollar bills pulled from a black plastic trash bag -- a stunt known as "making it rain."

Witnesses told police that Jones and members of his entourage threatened people while they were being ejected and that Jones spoke outside the club with the man who was suspected of opening fire minutes later.

Under the plea deal, Jones will receive a suspended one-year jail sentence and must attend an anger management program, complete 200 hours of community service within a year and submit to random drug testing.

The three people wounded in the Feb. 19 shooting -- club employee Tommy Urbanski, co-worker and bouncer Aaron Cudworth and club patron Natalie Jones -- have each have filed civil lawsuits seeking damages from Jones.

The lawsuit by Urbanski, who was paralyzed from the waist down, also seeks damages from the NFL, the Titans and the owners of Harlem Knights, a Houston strip club that hosted events at the Minxx club.

Urbanski's wife, Kathy, has expressed anger about Jones' plea deal and said she wants the gunman identified and charged.

Jones has been arrested six times since the Titans drafted him in April 2005 from West Virginia and has other criminal cases pending. A felony count of obstruction in Georgia from a February 2006 arrest has been postponed, and August 2006 public intoxication and disorderly charges in Tennessee were delayed pending the outcome of the Las Vegas case
