LOL, you guys must haven't actually watched him play. Numbers dont mean jack when you see a guy who's sopposed to truck through defenders get shoe string tackled by the first guy who approaches him. Often, when he does find a hole, he runs through it like a kid running across the gym in a dodge ball game. He looks scared to take a hit. He looks hesitant to hit a hole. He looks like his mind is on what he's going to get into after the game. He's tentative and soft going up the gut.

Sure, the OL is'nt helping him much but it most good RBs can create a few extra yards after the first hit. He goes down like he's a pixelated Madden player when he crosses the line. He cant stay on his feet after the first hit. You see him crumble whenever somebody touches him. His outside running game is horrendous. He moves laterally and gets nowhere. Obviously the Bears saw something in him last year when he and TJ shared the ball. And that was a guy who can truck through the gaps and shed a few tackles. Now he looks uninspired, uninterested and ready to get off the field. Maybe he's scared, maybe he doesn't trust the OL to block for him, ethier way, he looks terrible out there with those cheesey 3 yard gains. When he gets the ball, it looks like a Tecmo Bowl play when the defense chooses the correct play and every block gets shed and the play is over just as quick as it began. Granted, I'm sure even LT wouldn't be able to get 100+ yard games with this OL but at the very least, he'd break off a few big gains on his own.

Cedric is incapable and this is the Cedric I see every week. If the OL can keep Griese from being sacked on the every play, I'm sure they're somewhat capable of giving a RB the chance to get more than 2 10 yard gains in 13 carries.

the bears have been living on the pass all this year, and in the detroit game, detroit was defending the pass, you can see that with Griese's 4 INT's

it's not only that

it's the way that they run Benson, sweeps? Out of a singleback formation?

thats not how you do it, give him a FB like they did with TJ last year, i hardly see it anymore and when he does have a FB is when he get's his chunks

ron turner should not be an nfl coordinator

i seriously think the average person who watches football can call better plays

2nd & 2? You're telling me Benson cant get 2 yards out of a power formation?

1-10-CHI 40 (14:42) 14-B.Griese pass incomplete short right to 80-B.Berrian.
2-10-CHI 40 (14:38) 32-C.Benson left guard to DET 48 for 12 yards (53-P.Lenon, 42-G.Alexander).
1-10-DET 48 (14:03) 14-B.Griese pass intended for 80-B.Berrian INTERCEPTED by 23-K.Smith [92-S.Rogers] at DET 36. 23-K.Smith to DET 36 for no gain (80-B.Berrian).

yep, benson just got 12 yards, so lets pass it on first down since we "get off the bus running"

there was plenty of those stupid offensive play calls on sunday...

1st down: Benson runs for 8 yards.
2 and 3rd Down? 2 Incomplete passes.

Really?

You gotta understand though, at this point they dont trust Benson and everyone knows it. He only got 13 carries for a reason. When you fail to trust your RB then why give the ball to him. For every lucky 8 yard run he breaks off, his next 5 runs equal 8 yards.

this is where you are wrong.

pass blocking is simply more of standing a guy up and not letting him past you

to be effective at the run you have to be able to push bodies out of the way and the OL hasnt done that all year, they cannot move anybodt to save their life

tell me this

how many times has benson been hit right after the handoff in the backfield? i lost count.

Its been quite a few but also, how many times has he had a hole only to sissy prance through it and get wrapped up by a defender who was engaged in a block already?

i know some of the blame goes on benson, but he isnt the only one who should be ****ted on IMO

he doesnt look the same as he did last year, he did add 15 pounds in the offseason so maybe that affected his burst

but either way, ron turner needs to go

Agreed. His playcalling is senseless at times. That one drive where he did call for a pass on 2nd and 2 was questionable but I understand his motive. Calling a run for Benson would of been predictable and with Benson's rep at this point, it could of been considered a waste of a down.

The guy is a freaking turd at RB.

Read on chicagosports.com that he's sick of the criticism.

Well, maybe if you didn't suck, you wouldn't be getting hammered.

He needed to go last year. Sometimes he is solid but sometimes the play calling is just atrocious.

If I a DC against the Bears, 8 in the box is what I would run most of the game. Who's going to gash me? Brian Griese? Not really a threatening passing attack.
