In real soccer, a team can rattle off 10-15 sraight passes in a row for an attack( a technical team that is ) but they just don't rattle off one touch passing like the cpu does in PES. The Cpu just doesn't survey the field enough....get the ball pass, the pass recipient gets the ball one touch pass, and another one touch pass. The cpu, unfortunately for me, playes like cheesers online with their ping pong passing.

Also, I'm not really comparing this problem to real life as much as I'm comparing it to past PES titles. it was much better then IMO. Better flow, cpu will try to make runs, slow it down a bit. Just much more varied in the build up.
Maybe it's my copy of the game, but I just don't see this. Not saying the CPU has a tendency to pass the ball off quickly, but not like you describe. I know when you pressure, they pass it around fast because of looking for space to set up an attack. To the point of lobbing a long pass across the field to switch sides of play. I never see the CPU constantly one touch...one touch....one touch. They jockey the ball up and everything.

As for Tomba saying all teams play the same, yet they don't on FIFA? Seriously? Did FIFA get new adboards or something recently?

Whatever. You see what you see. Who am I to say anything? You basically said this game disappoints you, so you'll probably sell it or trade it in. That's you and your opinion. What can I say? Sorry that you guys don't like the game. No big deal. This isn't me being a smart-***, I promise.

You don't like the game, then you don't like the game. Right?

Re: PES 2010 Console Impressions

I have definitely seen teams play different styles and if you wanted to you can edit the styles of the teams. It also helps if you understand the style you are set up to play, with Sevilla, they are set up to cross a lot they have two fast guys on the wings in Navas and Adriano and it works pretty well. I also play as Sunderland and trying to run past people with Richardson and Malbranque doesn't work as well and I need to be patient to get opportunities.

If I don't like the way the CPU is playing I change my defensive tactics and go after them, that was what I meant when I said this game was more tactical than previous years.

I enjoyed what I played of FIFA but the similarity of the teams and the players especially was pretty evident to me, to each his own.

Re: PES 2010 Console Impressions

I'm about 10 games into my Master League with Hearts in the SPL and I am having bucket loads of fun. This game feels like a HD version of PES 5 with some cool tweaks and I'm absolutely loving it. It is in no way a realistic simulation of football like FIFA is trying to be but the fun factor is there in most areas.

This creaky old game engine still has the ability to make me gasp at times. The game feels far more on rails than FIFA but still has an organic flavour to it. Most goals feel different and I still love seeing crazy bounces and deflections that lead to mad scrambles in the box or in the midfield.

The only gripe I have is the CPU tends to over pass a lot and can chew up enormous chunks of the clock just passing it around in the midfield with no apparent urgency to get it forward. Even when they are trailing late. It can be very tough to get the ball back off them when they start to do this but I am getting better.

Also the UEFA Champions League presentation is fantastic, just like what I see on TV and I can't wait to qualify for this competition in my Master League eventually. Its a far more immersive manager mode than FIFA's effort and the opposing AI doesn't steal my players.

Next year I really hope that they can expand upon the 360 movement as its very subtle if its even there. Also the commentary is very limited and repetitive. I'm not even convinced if there are any new lines in there other than a few references to the Champions League. And the last PES I played was 08.

But the fun is back! I urge you guys to give this game a try. Its a great companion or alternative to FIFA.

I find the commentary in Spanish to be much better than English. (Either compared to the same game or to FIFA).

I like the Spanish commentary as well, mostly because I only understand about 5 words of it, so it doesn't annoy me like the English guys.

Re: PES 2010 Console Impressions

just have to say.....I re-purchased winning eleven 7 for the ps2 for 4 bucks.(I'm guessing it's pes 2004 or 2005?). Animations and graphics pretty bad compared to now ...BUT....

The cpu a.i was really really good back then. No ping pong passing by the cpu....the defense much much tighter, game pace slower, passes are a bit slower and not as accurate.

the cpu is also more creative in the offense. They attack much better up the middle, everything is just more polished. Goalies are better too. Top player level ( 5 stars) is much harder and more realistic when compared to next gen PES. everything just oozes soccer.

sad that pes 2010 can't re-capture that old magic.

That's a shame. Well, sorry your soccer game fix is dashed this year, man.

Really, I played one or two games on Pro and I was so much faster than the other team, I will have to try it again it wasn't much fun, or maybe I am just way better than I realized. Which version PS3 or 360?

What exactly do you mean by these two statements? Not trying to argue, I just want a soccer game that will give me the biggest bang for my buck. It would be great if you could expound a little bit!

Thanks!
