Hopefully there's an option for game speed. Looks like 08 all over to me.

Re: PES 09 Gameplay Video

I've been playing 2008 (North American version) the past few weeks, and there doesn't appear to be much of a difference in terms of animations or the way it looks. It actually looks a touch slower, and the player movement looks slightly more fluid.

My main gripe with 2008 is that on the harder difficulties the AI essentially stops playing soccer and turns into these insane cracked out maniacs who come flying at you 100mph no matter what the situation... Even if your center back has the ball with lots of room, the CPU striker will almost always charge at you with little regard for anything else. This is where the series has gone sour in my opinion... It just didn't retain the fundamentals.

Hopefully they did something to improve the way the AI plays... Though I also just read that they want to make the game more fun to play and easier to control. What the crap... There appears to be an industry wide trend to homogenize sports video games into lifeless, dumbed down activities. What a tremendous waste of processing power... As well as just being a poor contribution to society... To actually make things easier and less challenging!

Fight against every lump of mush.

Graphically it looks improved. I don't think the speed looks like a problem, and I didn't have a problem with the speed in 08 either though...

The game doesnt look good at all, the gameplay still look the same, animation look bad and not much improvement. Sorry but the grass for a next gen game is still AWFUL. doestn sound too good for PES once again this year.

Also, I hope they bring back the camera option where you can have the side view camera stay in the middle and rotate. It gives you a better angle to see passing lanes, etc. It was just one of the many things missing in 2008.

Re: PES 09 Gameplay Video

Still is too fast. Not sure why they think the game moves at that pace. Hard to tell with human v human, but the AI issues still look there.

Still, I know I'll end up getting it. Why? Because I will buy Fifa first, get fed up, throw my controller and break it, then go to the store to get PES (and a new controller). It pretty much goes the same every year.
