Anybody have a change of heart yet or seen any improvements/changes in these 2 this year to change your mind?
I'm extremely interested to see Melo working in the new offense with Lin/Stat/Chandler and their pick and rolls galore, but regarding Durant, he's improved his ability to create for himself off the dribble big time in my opinion. He seems to have added a lot of new moves to his arsenal this year.

I think this argument, FWIW, is more about personal preference than actual legitimacy as an argument. I mean, think about this: can you TRULY say KD has a one-up on Melo, or vice-versa?

If I was to pick, I'd take Melo simply because he's probably the most clutch player (statistically it's proven) in the league AND in the last couple of years. KD doesn't always come through in the clutch even though he's hit some big shots.

I can truly say KD has a "one-up" over Melo. KD is a better player and I don't even think it's debatable at this point. On top of that, he's 3-4 years his junior.

As far as the clutch factor, I'd say they're neck and neck.

It just makes me wonder how this kid is only 23 years old.

I would definitely take him over Melo any day.

Re: Let's settle this: Kevin Durant vs. Carmelo Anthony

They're both elite, and in the Top 10, if not, definitely the Top 15 players in the league. Both are superstars.

I'd love to have any on my team, but what sets them apart [as mentioned] is that Carmelo is the most all-around player in the league, and he can seemingly do anything, which makes him so clutch. However, he relies on isos and having the ball in his hands for whole possessions, but there is no doubt he is elite and a superstar.

Durant is one of the best pure scorers in the league. He can score from anywhere, and his ability to shoot and drive is incredible. It would be amazing if he developed a post game, especially because he can shoot it so well. I love his character, and he probably hasn't reached his ceiling, which is a scary thing.

In my eyes, it's a dead heat between the two.

In the league, right now?

I'm taking him Top 5.

Obviously Kevin Durant is Top 5, but same can't be said for Melo. Melo is a Top 10 player imo

Durant is a lot better than Carmelo. He has a higher ceiling, has shown progression from his rookie season, and has added on to his game.

I've said that Durant has been better than Melo since his 1st shooting title and I'm sticking by it.

Yea i started saying Durant was better than Melo during Durant's breakout year imma stick by it as well...i wish the Wizards had a player like him on the team.

edit: also KD is imo a top 5 player who is playing like a top 3 player this season how is Durant not better now?
