When Bad Things "Happen" to Good People

My jaw just dropped to the floor when I read this blog entry by sports columnist Eddie Sefko at the Dallas Morning News. Here is an excerpt:

When Popeye Jones got caught Sunday night, you can understand how it happened.... The Mavericks had a hugely successful road trip to LA [and] so there was no reason not to celebrate a little upon getting home.

It's just unfortunate that bad things sometimes happen to good guys.

Sometimes bad things happen to those who forget to use thier brains for a moment.

Gotta hate it when you just "happen" to drink and then just "happen" to get behind the wheel.

There is a simple way to avoid this problem really. If you are going to drive later in the evening, don't drink. If you are going to drink then don't even think about driving.

Sleep in your car. Thats what I do. If I get too drunk I just climb in the backseat and sleep it off.

Or find someone to bring you home.

Man the Mavericks, for always being labeled a soft team, have just become the bad boys of basketball...

Cuban accused of inside trading...

Popeye driving around drunk...

Dirk dating hood rats with aliases in all 50 states...

Howard doesn't sing the national anthem and smokes weed...

Jason Kidd was beating his wife...

Considering the mans name is Popeye, I think there is a family history of bad decisions..
