Perhaps you don't know who I am. I am the Forum Administrator here at OS. And for those of you that do, you know that it's never good when I am posting a sticky with a vague topic.
I am giving Matrix and 23 free reign on this forum from this moment on. What does this mean?
Well - This is your warning. The trolling here is rampant and uncalled for. IF you get a red card for trolling, they are going to report it to me. If they report your name to me, you are getting celled until the end of the NBA playoffs. Then, I will make an official ruling on whether you stay longer, or you can be released.
I would suggest that if you are even THINKING about taking a potshot at another user/group of users in the NBA forum until the end of the playoffs, don't post it. If you have to question a post, you probably shouldn't make it.
Sorry it has come to this. Thank you for your time.
Mods may have a noble purpose. But it also gives carte blanche to homerism. We shouldn't have to worry about being ganged up on for an opinion. & we shouldn't have to endure PSU_DW2's of the forum either.

You can refute points without doing what some people have been doing here.

Sometimes. But there are other times the brass is more interested in protecting the feelings of the unreasonable.
If I make an idiotic statement like Yao Jinlain is the best PF in the game, I deserve to be called an idiot & shouldn't expect a mod to come protect me.

I agree with this.

I don't believe name calling has a place on any discussion forum, but sometimes it seems like it's tolerated at the mod's discretion, and penalized at that same discretion.
But we'll see. I honestly don't think this will make the forums better in anyway, but it's gotten so horrible in this forum that something has to be done.

After 8 years of the same nonsense, you're right. Something has to be done. The other sports-related forums aren't really like this (or at this level). There can't be black and white, because everything is circumstantial. That's why everything is reviewed privately, in case one of us makes a mistake in a ruling.

Exactly. A mod may not consider it trolling if someone is talking about the Thunder, but get his panties in a bunch if they are talking about his beloved Grizzlies.
