It has been alot better OSU, ALOT
and no it wont ever be perfect, but some things going on now has to stop.

Oh I agree. It's always going to have to be that way when certain players/teams make the playoffs.

Things were going on before the playoffs man.
I've had plenty of discussions with Matrix and some other staff.
That said, there was a short period where things were great in here

I think it's unfortunate that it's come to this, but we have no one to blame but ourselves. The thing that really gets me is when people throw out the oh-so-famous "no wonder these forums are so bad" or "and we wonder why the NBA forum has the rep it does" etc., but these same people never look at their part in all of it.
Two wrongs don't make a right, and it's just as easy to walk away rather than get involved in the name-calling, trolling, petty bickering. This is especially true of people who have been here awhile and know the deal.

Streets, if you let one or two people go OJ, other posters are either going to leave or retaliate. They may not retaliate with the same vehemence as the first offender, but inevitably discussions will break down into polemics, hyperbole and chest thumping.

I don't know if we're even talking about the same thing (you can correct me if I'm wrong though). I'm not saying that the original troll or whatever should be let off, I'm saying that "taking the bait" or engaging in trivial arguments and then saying "no wonder these forums suck" does little to help because even if you didn't "start it", you're contributing to it (btw, by "you" I don't mean you Born).
My point is this... notice I said "we" brought this on ourselves, because I'm an active member of this forum. I am not exempt in creating the state of this forum, because I contribute to it just like everyone else.
By letting some stuff slide, it goes along way in helping out I think. But we all get heated and caught up in these mundane arguments (I know I do).

I don't want to get to into it. Bottom line, if you allow people to constantly interrupt a discussion with baiting, flaming, trolling or whatever, the ones having the discussion will no longer be able to conduct it. Over time, this has deteriorated the forum and will continue to do so unless moderators do an honest job.

Do constantly making up conspiracies fall under this as well?

I agree with all of this. It has nothing to do with what I was saying, man.
