For real all 12?
I don't think McGrady would have changed last year's result at all. People say the Lakers disappeared as if they didn't lose to the odds on favorite team from DAY ONE of the season. As if they didn't face the best defensive team in the league. As if they didn't face three perennial All Stars who were all playing together and at a very high level.

They got out toughed, out hustled and out shot by a better team and the best defense.

Translation: the Lakers disappeared + were outcoached.

I didnt know Posey was a PF

That's the thing. Tracy isn't a great hustle guy. He's not a defensive game changer and he's seldom healthy. He can get hot, make contested jumpers and he's an above average passer for his position. Against the C's, the Lakers needed STOPS, not contested pull up jumpers. They need stops, muscle and better cohesion. That Pau trade was made in the middle of the season and they lost Ariza and Bynum. Come on, now. You need every part of the buffalo to beat Pierce, KG and Ray Allen, especially when their role players bust ***, hustle and defend.

Disappeared makes it sounds self inflicted. The Celtics poofed them. If Chris Angel makes something vanish, you don't say it disappeared on its own. Lakers got MindFreaked.

So another guy like Kobe couldn't take the pressure off of him? Someone skilled in passing out that kind of defense, someone who can give the D something else to worry about without vaporizing?

Man, im glad yall are giving me this info

He's not, but the Lakers needed big bodies to disrupt KG and Perkin's efforts on both sides of the floor. Odom couldn't be that, so the Celtics had their way in that category. He lost the battle in the paint on both sides of the floor all series. That's my point. You put Bynum, Gasol and Ariza out there, and I don't think Posey has a field day.

Bottom line: The Celtics imposed their physical will on the Lakers on both sides of the floor, and I don't think Tracy is the piece needed to negate that. Bynum, Ariza and an improved defensive focus from 1-12 is the medicine I'd prescribe.

It's all about this year though. I'll take my chances with a healthy [mentally + physically] Odom over an injury riddled Mac. He won't even be 100% this year.

Re: LAL need to trade for McGrady

LOL, so youre telling me Tracy McGrady wouldn't have had an effect on the series anymore than Lamar Odom? In the playoffs? Against James Posey?

Lamar being steamrolled by James Posey has nothing to do with him playing PF or anything of that matter man come on.

Won or not that series wouldn't have been any different?
