Knicks Set To Acquire Al Harrington Today

From Real GM:

Quote:
Al Harrington is set to become a member of the New York Knicks, the New York Post is reporting. The deal was set to go through late on Thursday night, but the conference call with the league is now scheduled for Friday morning.
There are conflicting reports concerning which players the Knicks will include in the trade. Peter Vescey presumes that the deal is for Malik Rose. Ric Bucher of ESPN is reporting that the Knicks will send Jamal Crawford to the Warriors.
The move will reunite Walsh with Harrington, whom the Pacers president drafted out of high school (No. 25) in 1998.

It won't be for Jamal Crawford.

If it is, I'm hurting someone.

Why would the Knicks give up Crawford?

Very strange isn't it? Could it have anything to do with Marbury? Are they giving him another chance?

Re: Knicks Set To Acquire Al Harrington Today

Zach Randolph to be involved in this? 3 team trade in the works?

Quote:
Alan Hahn is reporting that a possible three-way blockbuster trade could be completed. The Knicks, Warriors and Clippers may be on the verge of a trade that would involve Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins being traded in a cap-clearing move that would see the Knicks bring in Tim Thomas, Cuttino Mobley and Al Harrington.
The Clippers would land Randolph and the Warriors would receive Jamal Crawford.
All three of the players New York would acquire have contratcs that expire by 2010 when LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh may be free-agents.
The Knicks could be looking to clear two maximum salary slots for that summer's free-agency period.

What in the hell?????????

In a season when we're actually doing well, Donnie Freaking Walsh is not satisfied?

Looks like they want to throw 2 seasons down the toilet. Well, what about the last 2 seasons? This team out there is actually competing for the first time since they traded Ewing and Oakley left!

The fans are happy. The media is happy. Sports writers are happy. I'M happy!

Why even ponder doing this? At this point?

2 of our best players so far in this early season!!

Yeah it seems like NY has a decent product on the floor this year.. but come on, Randolph and Crawford aren't world beaters and they're not going to get you even past the first round of the playoffs if you even make it there.

Come 2010, if you're NYC you want to at least have the ability to land a franchise player.

Re: Knicks Set To Acquire Al Harrington Today

If this goes through, while it is good to get under the cap, why would any of the top free agents want to come to NY when all that we're going to have are two top 10 picks over the next two years and little else...besides Eddy Curry.....

Makes sense to me. Lebron loves New York. He will bring a friend with him. Dwade and Lebron or Bosh and Lebron would be huge. You can pair up any number of players that would love to play with LBJ and have a chance to score big money as one of the biggest names in the Mecca.

Not a bad gamble.

I understand wanting to make room for 2010, But what happens if Lebron doesnt want to come play for this dysfunctional ownership? Then they tanked two seasons and some fans for what?
