Yao Ming and the future of the rockets.

So I know most of us here are ridiculosly hardcore hoop heads.

As such, I tihnk we can agree that you get to know a players full abilities, on court demaneor, etc etc, more if you actually see them play in person.

Well the other day I went to the Lakers vs Rockets game at Staples, since I was down there visiting my boy whose a Lakers STH.

ANYWAY, I have come to the conclusion...the definitive conclusion, that as long as Yao Ming is on the Houston Rockets, There is NO WAY they will be able to win anything significant.

First, Yao Ming is extremely slow footed...and over the years he has actually gotten slower, he used to be a lot more agile, but they made him put on a lot of weight and that has really really affected his agility.

Second, his Stamina, The guy gets noticeably fatigued withing 5 minutes. YES. this is not a joke or an exaggeration, I counted at least 10 times on my hands where this guy was still walking past half court while his teammates were already in the front court.

Lack of jumping ability. lets be honest the guy can't jump. That is why people attack the rim when he is in with reckless abandon, for being 7'6 he should be a way better shot blocker. Most of his blocked shots do not come when he is being challenged at the apex.. they are more of when he is flat footed.

Those three qualities = one thing, he is not athletic. AT ALL

On offense he is not a guy you can throw the ball in to because he cannot consistently get and maintain deep post position, so what usually happens is he is taking a hook shot from outside of the key, yes he can make them sometimes, but not at a decent enough clip where you can go to him 80% of the time.

Yao ming is a decent second or third option on a competing team, If i were the rockets i would definitely think about moving him.

Tracy Mcgrady is another issue all together, but i wanted this to focus on Yao Ming.
