Jose Calderon: why Assist/TO ratio is overrated

I've never seen a more uncreative PG in my life. He racks up the assists and doesnt turn the ball over but #1 he can't get to the rack without a pick and #2 he picks up his dribble at the worst time. he NEVER gets any of his guys easy shots because he's afraid of turning the ball over. which is why the raptors are such a fluky perimeter team. they dont get any easy shots or anything. Calderon dribbles the ball for 19 seconds and then gives it to some guy for a contested shot.

Most overrated player in the NBA today.

He needs to actually start driving to the lane after the pick.

Raptors offense is based entirely on P and R. I really don't care if he can get past his man with or without a pick..What gets to me is that he doesn't attempt to drive after the pick is set and this is what most Raptors fans are pissed about...

But dude, did Caldy hit on your sis or something? This is the only topic you ever talk about in this forum...

Just sick and tired of the Calderon loving. They traded away the wrong PG.

He can't split a double team. He is too afraid of turning the ball over so he makes the safe pass.

I'm not going to argue about this topic AGAIN...I hated the way Caldy played tonight...Incredably passive, but we did not trade the wrong QB.

Check my sig.

he always plays like this. even when he puts up big numbers, he never affects the game. Whens the last time he got anybody easy shots? He gets his assists on long range shots.

I'd put Paul, Davis, Nash, Parker, Iverson and Kidd ahead of him... Name me four others with a straight face

And i'd argue the original point, but if the OP seriously thinks Calderon's getting almost 10 assists a game on contested long range shots then whats the point

Deron Williams, Gilbert Arenas, Chauncey Billups is 3. I'd even throw in Mo Williams for argument's sake, just because I'm on the "Calderon is overrated" train also.

Shame on me for forgetting Deron ... Chauncey probably too, I can give you that ... No way would I put Mo ahead of him though... And Gilbert has to fire off so many damn shots to have an impact I wouldn't be so quick to put him ahead
