Is Paul Pierce a Hall of Fame player?

If you do feel that he is, is he a guy who if he retired today would he get in?

If you feel that he's not, does he have any chance of getting in at all?

I wanted to get peoples opinions on this topic and hear why you feel he can or can't.

The bad years with no truely exceptional year that stand out as a HOF caliber I cant say at this point he will be. But honestly if he could get this ring this year and be the major or the co major contributer he could make a push to end his career on that note cause winners get viewed in a whole other light...

Yep, without the rings you can't let him in and someone like Vince Carter out.

No.

3 NBA 3rd teams, no rings, no scoring titles, and never even really considered even at the top of his position, let alone the best. If it wasn't for the KG trade this wouldn't even be a discussion.

The comparison Rocky made is correct; he's a less popular Vince Carter.

If Paul Pierce is a HOF'er then i'm the Pope.

That's how I feel about it and nothing you can say will change my mind. The guy's a solid player who's put up some nice seasons but he's nowhere near a HOF'er in my book.

Re: Is Paul Pierce a Hall of Fame player?

I dont see everybody's comparison to Vince Carter, but that is besides the point. He's not a HOF player, but he's still a great. He's a memorable player for some of the things he had to endure off of the court, like getting stabbed. He's also been one of the best 4th quarter players during his time too. But no HOF for him.

Re: Is Paul Pierce a Hall of Fame player?

He's been one of the only guys to have averaged something like 25 ppg, 6 rpb, and 5 assist, and he's always been around those numbers while shooting a high percentage. He's also one of the greatest offensive players in Celtics history, which is saying a lot. Still, I do agree that this series will have a lot to do with whether he gets in or not.

Re: Is Paul Pierce a Hall of Fame player?

No, PP has never been regarded as one of the top 5 players in any year he has played. Top 10 maybe, but never top 5. At this point I would put Vince Carter ahead of him because he was at the least the epitome of Canadian Basketball for a while.
