Re: Mike Trout or Bryce Harper

I was criticizing Nike. (I wasn't allowed to start another thread because we had this one, remember?) Man, you guys are hyper-sensitive. At least they (Nike) could come up with something original that rhymed like the initial campaign.

As far as the "jealous" comments. Wasn't my initiation. If I want to come out and critique something that is going on in the appropriate sub-forum, then as long as that is in the TOS then that's my prerogative, or do I not understand the function of this site?. I believe I made pertinent points and I backed them up. Others wanted to interpret my actions as such, then I can't do anything about that. Other threads/postings by other members have been made through the years about other players. Specifically, if Harper wants to follow idiotic counsel (which I'm sure it was.... and believe me, being a Flyers fan, we know about idiotic counsel within the Lindros family), then I'm criticizing the idiotic counsel. In regard to the trademarking move, if the Trademark commission wants to grant trademarks for ridiculous statements that are not in the spirit of what trademarks are for, then I chastise them.

But I'm not doing or saying anything out of line with the intention of this site or these particular forums. Just because guys don't want to hear it, doesn't mean that the expression of it is wrong, as long as it's within the TOS, and that includes moderators. If I'm wrong about this, then tell me how I'm wrong about it.

No joke...they can't touch his power though.

It can be considered trolling and agenda posting, actually.

Yes. Screw these guys. A guy in AA with 0 MLB at bats, 0 AAA at bats, is where it's at.

Mike Trout.

Can't believe 25 teams passed up on him in the 2009 draft. Including the White Sox who drafted 23rd and picked Jared Mitchell. Speaking of Mitchell, he just got demoted to double A last week. Big fail in that draft.

I think it's 21 teams, the Nationals and Diamondbacks had multiple picks and the Angels had selected Randal Grichuk before Trout.

There's a lot of toolsy high school outfield prospects that fall because of the uncertainty that they can hit and most of them don't pan out and Mike Trout slowly worked his way up into the first round discussion. However Mike Trout panned out terrifically for the Angels.

I wasn't necessarily referring to the best player. Trout's obviously one of the best offensive rookies of the decade.

But in terms of excitement, I still think a guy like Vlad, or the aforementioned scrub who steals third on a thrown over to first, AMAZES more.

How about a guy who can steal 40 to 50 bases and hit you 30 bombs? Way more amazing IMO. If you're getting compared to Joe DiMaggio you're doing something right.

Exactly. Not to mention plays like these.

Mike Trout. Harper's great, but I continue to be amazed by what Trout does. He's amazing...
