Re: Worst playoffs in recent memory

Ewing just hates the Phillies. Nothing to see here as we all know this has been an outstanding series via fans from both teams in a general consensus w/ other baseball fans not named Ewing.

/thread.

After last night's game, I'm hoping Ewing doesn't have to change his mind.

The playoffs this year have been weak, the WS is entertaining however and the best series so far, in an otherwise forgetful postseason.

2006 was worse. (don't hate me Cardinal fans...but that postseason was weak as hell...)

Re: Worst playoffs in recent memory

2007 was about as bad as it gets. 5 sweeps out of 7 series. Boston's victory was pretty ho-hum compared to 2004 (obviously). Even the Red Sox' 3-1 ALCS comeback was far less exciting than it could've been (the scores of games 5, 6, 7 were 7-1, 12-2, 11-2). Total dud. The only memorable moment was Joba vs Nature in Cleveland.

I'd say Angels/Yankees was much better than Phillies/Yankees.

Re: Worst playoffs in recent memory

As usual I couldnt disagree with Ewing more!
While none of the series have went the distance the games have been exciting and entertaining as hell! And if Pedro pitches well tonight and the World Series goes to a game 7 then really what more could a true fan ask for?
By the way most everyone else would disagree with the original post also as this years playoffs TV ratings have been great.

Once the series began I never felt the Angels had a chance.

I don't see how 2006 was weak. A fantastic 7 game NLCS that came down to the final pitch and a walk off game winning home run clinches the ALCS for the Tigers. Yes, the World Series left something to be desired, but I didn't feel like the post season was weak that year.
