Jays vs. Red Sox

This is going to be a HUGE series for the Jays. I'm hoping they play better then they did against the Yanks at least from the hitting perspective. The Jays can't afford to fall back now with the way the rest of the AL East is starting to play right now.

They're catching the Sox at a good time. Ortiz has hit an absolute low and Youkilis is still out. Plus the starting pitching for the Red Sox has been amongst the worst in baseball, while the Jays rotation is going strong and in a hot streak. The Red Sox get to miss Halladay, but given he's been a .500 pitcher in his career against Boston it's not as big of a deal for Toronto. I really think the Jays are primed to take this first series.

Great win by the Jays!

Even when Jesse Carlson gives up the lead in the 8th Alex Rios hits a HR to take it right back. Looks like Rios' bat is starting to warm up which is a good thing.

I just love watching this Jays squad play even if they go back to earth at least they've shown they have heart and grind it out every day.

Noooooooooooo!!!! Rickie Weeks out for the season; he was finally starting to put it together, he would have easily hit 25+ hrs. had he played the entire year

Tough loss, but hopefully we have the depth to withstand it.

Gamel should get some serious playing time now. He could be up for the rest of the season... here's his chance to step up.

I'm thinking this will be the only day of the week that I can say this:

The Indians didn't lose today!
