If it's true, well God bless the Giants. I don't see how he'd make the Giants a NL West contender all by himself, but it's a start I guess if I'm a Giants fan. But I'm NOT SO MANNY! in '09!

Just thinking about CC and Lincecum as a 1-2...

That should be illegal.

If that's the case, he'll go to SF.

Going home with a huge contract is something CC has dreamed about.

As for the whole "the Yanks ruin free agency" thing, it's not only the Yankees. It's the Yanks, Boston, Mets, or some moron mid market team that over pays for a Gil Meche type player.

Hating the team does nothing, Stern and the MLBPA are the real villains.

Yea I think that will be what will happen. Just make the West more of a challenge.

I never thought Sabathia would come to NY, anyway. I can't see him passing up the NL and the West Coast for more money.

He's still going to be filthy rich either way.

I hope the Giants land CC. The same team having Lincecum and Sabathia would be just ridiculous.

Don't want to take this thread off-topic, but why do people still hold onto this idea that Meche was a ridiculous, terrible signing by the Royals? He's had a sub-4.00 ERA both years in KC and last year had a 14-11 record on a team that finished with a losing record.

Meanwhile, the Giants throw $18 million/year at Barry Zito during the same offseason that Meche was signed and has posted 4.53 and 5.15 ERAs in his two years in SF and has gone a combined 21-30.

The Royals take heat when they don't spend money, then they go out and sign a legitimate front-of-the-rotation guy and take crap for that, too.
