Rumor has it they are close to getting Lowe. I'd rather just bring Pettitte back, and if you can get Sheets for a shorter deal do it, if not go with Hughes or Kennedy.
I don't know, if it were me I would rather have Lowe. He has postseason experience and Sheets had a tendency of getting worn down as the season goes on.

The Yankees basically begged the city for more money this past week to help finance their new Stadium - hundreds of millions in tax-exempt bonds - on top of all the tax breaks they have been getting. Mayor Bloomberg is hack and slashing his budget to pieces, the MTA is going to jack up the cost of train and bus rides and the Yankees need more help from taxpayers to fund this Stadium while throwing $160 million on one player. Taxpayers are either funding the Stadium or we're paying CC's salary in the form of lost tax revenues. That's how I see it. He's the most expensive civil servant in the country.

Lowe was average at best his last 2 years in the AL East. I would not want him for 4 years. Sheets is much better when he's healthy, and if the Yankees could get him for 2 years it isn't as big of a risk.

Not to mention that this only gives the Yankees more incentive to continue raising ticket prices, and that affects the real fans.

There is a lot to be upset about here, but it does not concern the Yankees because fans ultimately forget where their money is going. At the end of the day it's win or lose.

I have never been a fan of CC, though he has improved tremendously in the past two seasons. The Yankees need a big lefthander and this reminds me of David Wells, who despite sharing every personal issue of fans with the exception of financial security, was absolutely loved by New Yorkers.

At least we know CC isn't on steroids.

I wish the Yankees the best of luck. Now I hate the Yankees, but it just feels weird not having them in the playoffs. Just seeing that stadium lit up in October reminds me so much of why I love baseball, and you always need that team to root against. So good luck Yankee fans, hope everything works for you guys.

Sincerely,
Your neighborhood Dodger fan.

Appropriate that CC is on the Yankees since he's the A-Rod of pitchers in the postseason.

I agree with you on that point.. I really hate the fact that both NY clubs cried for "new parks" to get fans in, yet they basically charge insane $$$ for seats.. What "fans" are they trying to attract?

Well it looks like he is signing with the Yankees. I am glad. I wants some bats. If they were going after him they should be able to go after some solid bat. Congrats C.C. Nice deal!

Yeah, the more i think about it I'm glad the Giants didn't spend over 100M on another pitcher. I like CC but we need bats more. What's going on with Adam Dunn? Nobody talks about this guy but look at his stats he's hit over 40 HRs like four years in a row. I don't understand why the Giants don't go after him.
