None of this really matters as much if MaddenMania is still doing balloting over there. There is no way it'll be close if a 2k game is in the running, especially with a moderator who believes CH2k8 is only good if you're a fanboy

This tournament, once it moved over here, was barely advertised at MM and many people had completely forgotten about it when moved over here.

Regardless of what the mod believes, he's one person and his vote counts once just like anybody else's so I'm not sure what you're trying to imply.

This poll has been ruined by the 2k guys, period. I hope the finals don't even get run since it would be completely meaningless. I hope the mods realize this.

While opinions are one thing, greatness is another. Again, popularity or sales do not equal greatness, it just means they were made to cater to many more people. A band or a game that fails to catch on to the mainstream can still be greater than one that does. That's obvious on so many levels.

so because people complain that a game isn't great, and whine about a website poll, makes that game unworthy? The whole point was to have an interesting discussion that compared the impact of older games like TSB versus the top sports games of today. Instead, we get people crying "fanboys" at the results and whining that nostalgia didn't work on a site that is by their own admissions, geared towards younger people..who grew up on the playstation and on.

I can't wait for this poll to get scrapped due to whining, then for the official "OS tells you which game is the best sports game ever" tournament. In all fairness, I'm sure there would still be whining about fanboys if EA ran the table and had got to the finals.

Are you kidding me? I love College Hoops as much as the next guy, but come on. Tecmo Bowl (and TSB) are arguably two of the most revolutionary games ever, and yet here it falls to CH2K8? What's so revolutionary about it? Is it just because it's the last incarnation of the series? I personally thought that NBA 2K8 was just as nice, if nto a little nicer. Seriously. Pathetic.

if the 2k "fanboi's" were really doing what people said, then NBA2k8 would have gotten a heck of alot further then it got. I am a 2k fan, but i did NOT vote for CH2k8 at any point. I did and will continue to vote for NFL2k5 though. It was just the most awesome NFL football game every created. None even come close as a whole package. Not on the same tier, level, plateau or however else you want to put it.

Seriously, the younger people don't understand how revolutionary Super Tecmobowl was. Too many people are probably too young to remember having to write down in a notebook each individual carry or at bat if you wanted to keep stats for a game. STB put an end to all this. Its interface for stat viewing was well laid out nd it recorded every critical stat.

You got to remember up until a couple years before Super Tecmo Bowl came along, we were basically playing Red Team vs. Blue Team. I had never been so pleased or blown away with a game in my life, thats why I give it the nod.

I would love to see what this vote looks like if the votes of "members" with less than 10 posts were removed from the equation.
