Influence must be part of the criteria, otherwise there's no way to compare games such as these. For it's time, Tecmo Super Bowl absolutely dwarfed everything. If there's not a way to balance the system limitations (framerate, graphics, hardware, financial resources, etc.) there's no way it can be an unbiased poll. We're comparing an NES to an XBOX 360 or PS3. That's like comparing a tricycle to a 2008 Benz.

We're also comparing era's to a certain degree, and as far as I know that method hasn't worked well for anything in the past, especially sports. We might as well start a Barry Sanders is better than Jim Brown thread or Michael Jordan is better than Wilt Chamberlain thread.

That being said, go Tecmo Super Bowl.

i think some of you folks who are on the College Hoops bandwagon have blinders on honestly. It might be a very good to great game. It might be the best college basketball game to date. and sure its sad that it isn't being made any more.

personally, right now I think there are 60 people who are nuts. anybody who says College Hoops 2k8 is a better game than Tecmo Super Bowl either has never played TSB or is deluding themselves.

i like basketball more than football. i loved played TSB back in the days but i enjoy CH2k8 more. Its the greatest b-ball ever IMO. and i'm 29 years old.

Nostalgia and memories that helped pave the way for not only CH2k8, but sports forums. You obviously have no idea how popular Tecmo was. A sports gamer disrespecting Tecmo Super Bowl as a video game is like an NBA fan disrespecting Larry Bird for not being as flashy as players today. Can we get a list of innovative features that Tecmo Super Bowl brought to the table and compare them with the innovative features that CH2k8 has brought? In other words, what do these two games have that other games at their respective times don't.

CH2k8 is the best basketball game I've ever played. TSB was the best football game I've ever played until I play a certain game that is in another matchup. I give the nod to the CH2k8 because it is the best in its genre in this competition.

I played TSB a ton when I was younger. We'd play for hours and hours and have tournaments. It was great. If I could I'd vote for both of them. My tastes have changed, however, and I'm not voting on influence or nostalgia. For CH2k8 to have come out in Oct / nov (can't remember which) of last year and already have this many people saying it is great is pretty amazing.

That said, have you played CH2k8 at all? Have you gone through a franchise in it? It isn't fanboyism or blinders like you have 'joked'.

Maybe this is hypocritical of me, but I completely agree with you here. Voting isn't public but I am actually beginning to wonder if we have a bunch of people from the 2k Forums coming here to vote for this game right now. I love CH, it is IMO the best basketball game ever made, but it isn't Tecmo Super Bowl.

By those standards the 'Wright Flyer I' is the best aircraft, or, the 1<SUP>st</SUP> movie with sound and color is the best movie ever.
