Elite Eight: Mike Tyson's Punchout vs. NFL 2k5

IMO that argument doesn't hold water Giggas. 2k5 is what? Three? Four years old? Mike Tyson's Punchout is more than 10 years old. We'll see in 10+ years if you're singing the same tune about NFL 2k5.

Not that it wasn't a good game worthy of being in this competition or even beating Mike Tyson's Punchout, but you can't say MTP isn't good because you can't play it now when NFL 2k5 hasn't had the same test of time.

2K5 had everything you could ask for in a sports game. The one word I would use to describe it, that you pretty much can't say for the majority of sports game out there is...

AUTHENTIC!

This game will probably get my vote all the way to the finals. I have Tecmo Super Bowl at second place BTW.

As much as i love Punch Out, i had to go with NFL2k5 as it was a step in the right direction for football gaming. To bad the other company still hasnt even matched 2k5 and the game is 4 years old as it came out in 04.

It will stand the test of time. Its the all time best NFL football game ever made. IT was also the last year that 2k sports was able to make a NFL football game. It will stand the test of time with ease bud.

Corny, but I think its the type of game I'll tell my kids about when I get older.

i think its the second part that drives a lot of the NFL 2k5 crowd - the fact it was the last one. If there was an NFL 2k6 I wonder if NFL 2k5 would be held in such high regards, even if it was better than 2k6.

i cant believe Punch-Out is losing... This game is so much better than NFL2K5 and it is NOT a nostalgia reason. NFL2K5 is a GREAT game in its own right, but I think you guys need to look in context of the years these games were released.

NFL2k5 has features that still haven't been implemented in new football games that a lot of people play
