La Liga Matchday 24

@

1-3
'2 - Rossi (Villa)
'14 - Guerrero (Rayo)
'38 - Lasogga (Villa)
'63 - Rossi (Villa)

A brace from Guissepe Rossi lifted Villarreal past Rayo despite Guerrero's 14th minute goal today. It only took 2 minutes for Rayo to concede today, the quickest all-season. Guerrero momentarily stunned the El Madrigal crowd but it wasn't enough as Lasogga scored before halftime and Rossi put the game away in the 2nd half. A frustrated Guerrero would pick up a yellow card late, meaning he would miss out on the next match vs Valencia due to card accumulation.

La Liga Matchday 25

vs
2-3

With a suspended Guerrero, Rayo rally to claim all 3 points versus a shocked Valencia side.

La Liga Matchday 26

@

3-2
'10 - Verdu (Esp)
'15 - Pacheco (Rayo)
'39 - Guerrero (Rayo)
'67 - Pandiani (Esp)
'81 - Botelho (Rayo)

That's 2 wins in a row for the lesser known of the Madrid clubs. Rayo battled back from another early conceded goal and used an 81st minute goal from Botelho to get the win. Guerrero scored his 2nd in as many games today and has begun to catch the eye of the Chilean National Team.

La Liga Matchday 27

vs
0-2
'5 - Ruben (Levante)
'31 - Kone (Levante)

Rayo's 2 match unbeaten streak came to an end as they were blanked by a struggling Levante side, "We're both battling to stay up. This was one that we needed at least a point out of" said Guerrero

La Liga Matchday 28

@

4-2
'30 - Bravlio (Zaragoza)
'45 - Botelho (Rayo)
'48 - Pacheco (Rayo)
'59 - Garcia (Rayo)
'71 - Botelho (Rayo)
'83 - Bravilo (Rayo)

A brace for Rayo's Botelho tonight gave Rayo a little breathing room in the relegation battle tonight. The mostly impotent Rayo attack exploded today for 4 goals. Up next will be a trip to Andalusia for a match with resurgent Malaga.

Excellent first touch on those last couple goals. A hint of offside in the Villareal goal? Looked pretty close to me! lol

I thought I was off at first too, especially since the pass came a little late. I tried to slow down some but I got caught up in the defender.

Guerrero has definitely been the spark for Rayo!

Too bad the spark doesn't equate to points.

La Liga Matchday 29

vs

4-2
'6 - Cazorla (Malaga)
'11 - Joaquin (Malaga)
'24 - Joaquin (Malaga) PK
'44 - Pacheco (Rayo) Assist Guily
'52 - Guerrero (Rayo) PK
'85 - Van Nistlerooy (Malaga)

No lack of excitement tonight as hosts Malaga put 4 past Rayo despite Chilean playmaker Guerrero scoring and assisting. Rayo have surrendered more first 10 minute goals than any other club in the league and today was no different. In fact, Malaga scored 3 times before the 25 minute mark Guerrero's diagonal ball found Pacheco who blasted it in the far left corner.

7 minutes after intermission Guerrero drew a penalty and calmly slotted it home:

Despite a furious comeback, Rayo hopes were dashed in the 85th minute by super sub Ruud Van Nistelrooy and his 85th minute goal.

Re: Guerrero's Tale - PES 2012 - Be a Legend

Santiago, Chile

Chile National coach Claudio Borghi has informed the press that 17yr old Rayo midfielder, Kevin Guerrero will earn his first call-up for the senior side when the national team is in action next, "I have been following him lately and his recent form is worthy of a call-up." said Borghi.

Guerrero was set to play in the Under-20 World Cup this summer and was in the side that lost to Brazil in the South American championship last summer.

Guerrero on the call-up:
"It feels great to represent my country on the senior level. I'm looking forward to playing with legends like Pizarro, Sanchez, Vidal, and the likes"

Re: Guerrero's Tale - PES 2012 - Be a Legend

Madrid, Espana

It appears that more than just the Chilean National side has taken notice of Guerrero's recent form. Italian club Napoli have reportedly shown interest in the 17yr old. Rumors of a visit from Guerrero were put to rest by Kevin himself; "Yes, I was in Napoli, but only for vacation during the holiday. There were no talks with Napoli."

London side Tottenhman are also rumored to have sent out scouts to evaluate if the player is capable of making a jump to the Barclays Premier League. "It's an honor to be linked with two great sides but I'm a Rayo player right now and I can't let this distract me from my goal, to stay in the top division." said Guerrero.

Rayo's sparkplug could have to be sold if the side doesn't stay up this season. The cash from his transfer would be too much to turn down.

Good luck dude, hopefully you can do enough to save them from relegation!!!

Is there anyone you prefer playing along side in the Rayo team that creates chances for you more than others?

Unfortunately we don't have a striker who has the ability to hold-up play. Danny Pacheco is skilled but he's not strong enough and gets pushed aside way too much. He'd be much better as a support striker but our manager only throws one up-top most games.

We have another ST named Bangoura. He SUCKS. He's only 19 but I dread when I see his name on the sheet. He can't dribble, shoot, or pass. Not admirable qualities when he's alone up top with 2 CBs keying on him.

Raul Tamudo is actually our best striker but he hardly ever play, maybe because he's 34.

We just don't have the talent to compete with the big boys this year. Who knows, maybe we'll get purchased by a rich Sheik and he'll dump millions into the club like Malaga.
